Scenic Hills Country Club
About
Unlike many other courses in the state, Scenic Hills Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of rolling hills. In addition to the dramatic elevation changes throughout the course, the holes are sharply framed by towering pines that line the fairways. The holes play to generous putting surfaces that provide a variety of hole placements, but its best to play to the middle of the greens since there are strategically placed bunkers guarding all of the greens. Water hazards also come into play on six holes, but they require only minimal forced carries. Scenic Hills C.C. opens with what is arguably its most challenging holes. The par-4 hole plays downhill to a green that is not only protected on both the left and right with bunkers, but there is also a steep-faced bunker that is not visible from the fairway.

great condition
The course was in great condition had no problems at all. Will be going back soon.
Don’t Bother Playing This Course
1st time playing in a few years and really disappointed. Very hard pan fairways with a lot of bare areas. We missed a new hole they put in because we didn’t see it and there was no signage. Tee boxes were horrible with very little grass . One green a a round hole about 3 feet in diameter and a foot deep still covered with grass. Like a sinkhole. $35 golf now rate a rip-off. Won’t be back!
Just awful
Pace of play was terrible, greens were awful, only nice person was the cart girl. Shop was awful didn’t have anything to buy.
Nice Mature course
nice mature course. Wouldn't mind playing it again. seems thou that a foursome would know to let a single player , play thru.
some of the Greens showed bald and fungus area's
This was once a great course
First time back after more than 4 years even though I told the group it was not worth it - well it was hard not to say I told you so. If you hit the ball straight down the fairway you have a more than average chance of a good lie, miss a little left/right and you chances reduce dramatically. Greens roll nice except for the pot holes, weeds and gravel from the traps. Traps are inconsistent throughout the course. Save your frustration and go somewhere else.
For this time of the year - ok
The fairways were sparse - it's winter - the greens were in fairly good shape and ran pretty true - apparently they've had some recent flood damage but we worked around it. Would play there again. Facilities very nice and friendly staf.
BAD CONDITIONS
Everything on the course was bad.
Tee boxes
Greens
Fairways
Sand traps
Scorecard had holes that were no longer on the course.
Needs grass
Fairways are primarily soil - about 35%actual turf. They roll like a parking lot so distance is good but lies are tight.
Pretty rough around the edges.
Great friendly staff
Enjoyed the course. Greens are ok, some are great others need a little work. Beautiful layout. But staff is the best part of this place. Very helpful and accommodating.
Not bad for local nw Fl
Fun neighborhood course for Pensacola area. Easy layout and fairways/greens decent.
Go somewhere else
Probably the worst course I’ve ever played. Just moved to Pensacola 2 months ago from Michigan. I’d rather play in the snow in Michigan than play this course again.
Getting better
Scenic went through some major issues last summer when they had a water main break. They lost 4 greens and the course looked horrible. They have overseeded for the winter, and while a couple greens still have trouble spots, overall they were very puttable. Fairways were in decent shape. The bunkers still need work though.
Rough Shape
Course is in pretty rough shape. I was visiting the area and played this course first. Afterwards I went to a local golf shop and told them were I had played and that I was not thrilled and they all said it’s the bottom of the barrel course for the area. Played Cypress Lakes today and was much happier.
