Saddlebrook at Saddlebrook Golf & Tennis Resort
About
The Saddlebrook Resort boasts 36 holes of championship golf designed by Arnold Palmer. The resort sprawls across 480 acres of lush, rolling hills covered with groves of tall cypress trees and swaying palms that weave through sparkling blue lagoons. The Saddlebrook Course is the tighter and flatter of the two courses at the resort but the layout offers a mix of wide and narrow fairways. Palmer equipped the layout with beautifully designed par 4s and par 5s framed with moss-draped cypresses. Water is a more prominent feature on this golf course with ponds and lakes coming into play on 14 holes. There are also more than 50 sand bunkers that are strategically placed along the greensides and near the landing zones on a few of the doglegs. The course has a memorable finish with a lengthy par 4 that doglegs right with water all along the right side.

Nice course, disappointing service
Astounds me that we have to carry our own bags 200 yards from valet to the tee ourselves. Why don’t they take them for you. Took forever to get 2 hotdogs at the turn. After schlepping our bags back to the valet again, wandered around for 5 minutes holding my valet ticket looking for someone to give it too only to discover that the unlabeled little hole in the wall was for valet. Expected much better service for what I believed to be a 4 star resort. Money better spent at Innisbrook.
Not worth the money, no organization
I live a couple miles away from this place so just play here out of convenience. For some reason they have a starter most of the time on the Palmer course but have never seen one on the Saddlebrook course. They’re just letting groups of any size go off. I finish hole 4 and drive past 1st tee while driving to hole 5 and a group of 6 are teeing off in 4 carts. Next hole I catch up to a five-some in 3 carts. Im parked behind them on 3 consecutive tee boxes and they don’t let me play through. I eventually just skip a 8 and go straight to 9. I also try calling the pro shop twice to see if there’s a ranger or why they’re letting groups of 5-6 go off and it’ll basically ring forever, no one answering. For the prices they charge it’s not enjoyable. I’d just save your money and go somewhere else.

Nice day
Good pace, greens well maintained, and felt like only ones on the course.
Fun course f9r $43
Need Some more communication for us first timers there. Couldn't fund 1...lol...Driving around the pool was fun though. Had a blast. Fun course. Greens could be rolled.
Saddlebrook Experience a 10!
An absolute gem! Phenomenal layout and incredible greens. Truly a slice of heaven! Am coming back again to play the Palmer TODAY (March 5th 2024). Almost too good to be true type of place. My brother from Massachusetts said the same thing!
The course is a good course
The course is good could be a little bit better for the money you pay and for them having a true golf school. Definitely will go back and play again.
Good course
Course is in good shape. The numerous sand traps are well maintained. The greens are fair with reasonable speed. Course was busy on a Friday afternoon and we played in 4 hours.
mike
played the saddlebrook course nice layout course in pretty good shape the greens are just ok wouldn't have minded paying the price if the greens were better at $75.00
Course is well layed out
The course was in excellent shape for this time of year. Greens were full but a little long. Fairways were in good condition also. It was as pleasure to play.
Course was reasonably good greens were painfully slow
Greens were always good when I played previously. They ran about 7 stimp. Were inconsistent and brutal to put on. Fortunately got it on a hot deal so I don’t feel completely bad about it. Played the Palmer course last week and it was 100% better!
Good Again
The day was very wet but the course was mostly playable. Cart path only. Fairways and greens good shape. Valet only is a little inconvenient.
Saddlebrook Course
The course was nice and staff was friendly. A huge resort community. It seemed most people were there for other amenities. The property has a magnanimous amount of tennis courts and resort style pool. We didn’t use the amenities and not sure what additional costs (if any) would be incurred.
Positives: The course was in decent condition. The pace of play was great. It was just me and a friend and we were not paired with anyone else. The first 4 holes we had no one in front of us, but we eventually ran into a foursome. As to be expected, the pace slowed down slightly given that there were just 2 of us. But it was still not a terrible pace. It’s possible there was a tournament in the morning that we caught the tail end of. Not sure.
Negatives: The access to drinks around the course was terrible. Especially given that it was early Sunday afternoon. There was not a cart path attendant and limited stations for water, ball washing, etc. NOTE: IF YOU WANT TO HIT THE RANGE, GET THERE VERY EARLY. The range is nowhere near the clubhouse or first tee box. You must drive through neighborhoods on a golf cart (about 10 mins).
Overall, a good course with abundant wildlife. Course was not “premier”, but definitely playable conditions. I would play again.
If you waited a minute they would have shuttled you the 200 yards to and from the valet... and THEN the valet would have brought your car because they would have known you were there.... Innisbrook... yeah... go there for twice the price and snob appeal... you appear to need it...
