Saddlebrook at Saddlebrook Golf & Tennis Resort
About
The Saddlebrook Resort boasts 36 holes of championship golf designed by Arnold Palmer. The resort sprawls across 480 acres of lush, rolling hills covered with groves of tall cypress trees and swaying palms that weave through sparkling blue lagoons. The Saddlebrook Course is the tighter and flatter of the two courses at the resort but the layout offers a mix of wide and narrow fairways. Palmer equipped the layout with beautifully designed par 4s and par 5s framed with moss-draped cypresses. Water is a more prominent feature on this golf course with ponds and lakes coming into play on 14 holes. There are also more than 50 sand bunkers that are strategically placed along the greensides and near the landing zones on a few of the doglegs. The course has a memorable finish with a lengthy par 4 that doglegs right with water all along the right side.

Nice course
Nice course, unfortunately some golfers just lack respect and drive the golf carts in soft spots which are clearly visible and ruin parts of the fairways.
Hard course
Great course , great condition but fairly difficult course. Plenty of water and narrow fairways.
Over all would play again 👍👍
Beautiful peaceful course.
Love this course..very scenic . Great condition..
Would play here more if the price was more reasonable for local florida residents...
Beautiful course
Beautiful course with nice layout. Greens and fairways were in great condition. Only negative is all the nonsense you have to go through just to get to the first tee. You first have to drive up to the main entrance of the hotel and then the valet has to take your clubs out of your vehicle and put them on an extended golf cart. You give your car keys to a young man who drives away with your car and parks it somewhere. You get on the extended cart and they drive you over to where you sign in at the pro shop. Then you walk over to get your cart. They then point you in the direction of the first tee and tell you to check in with the starter. We get to the starter booth and there is no one there. We eventually found the first tee and had a very enjoyable round. After our round we had to wait for the guy in the extended cart to show up again to take us and our clubs back to the hotel. He never showed up so we walked back and they brought our clubs back in a work cart. We then had to wait for the valet to go get my car. I’m glad we had lots of time to play our round.
Expensive and far too challenging for mere mortals
Concession and food costs, drinks way too expensive. Confusing valet service. As for the course, (Saddlebrook 18) bring lots of balls; way too much water and off fairway brush/jungle. This is not a mid to higher handicap course, you will get punished for not being on fairways. Subdivision signage and directions are confusing to the course/clubhouse. This golf course could be a whole lot more golfer friendlier, from course maintenance (greens) being poor to punishing off the fairway shots.
Great course
To be honest, we have now played both Palmer and saddlebrook courses. If you want a little more open area I would suggest Palmer. If you want to challenge I would suggest saddlebrook. Both are in excellent shape and both were highly enjoyable.
We are definitely coming back to enjoy both of them. There were two holes on the last three that had just a little bit of issues on the green that did not affect play at all. But you can tell they work hard to keep the course. Immaculate.
Course in good condition
The greens and fairways were in pretty good shape considering the time of year. The greens were soft and holding wedge shots. An overall good experience.
I hate to see this course disappear
I know things change, but to see a landmark be modified into something different so the new owners can make a profit, I question???
I hope they can keep this course at the level we all want!
Could use some work
Couldn’t beat the price but the Palmer course is in much better shape. Since they plan on closing the course in the future it seems like they don’t want to put up too much money maintaining it.
Love the course
My fellow golfers and I love the course. The pace was great and the course was in good condition. They have a very friendly staff.
Course was in great shape.
Course was in great shape. A couple of traps
could of used some more sand. Greens were true
And rolled well. 1 st time playing the Saddlebrook
18. Enjoyed it as much as the Palmer 18.
Well worth the money!
Greens were surprisingly slow. I would expect a Troon course to be much better. Also, we never saw a beverage cart the whole day.
Saddle Brook Course
My first time on this course. I played the Palmer course on my last visit. Course was in good shape with some weeds on both the fairway and greens, but this really didn't impact play that. much. Overall, puts rolled true, although I thought the greens were a bit slow.. There re is a lot of water on the course, so shot placement and proper club selection is essential.
Decent course
The golf course was good for it being off-season. The "resort" was weird. Directions to the clubhouse were difficult to find. Hint: it's not near the golf practice facility as the address suggest. Valet parking is required at the resort entrance and they'll shuttle you to the pro shop. Valet is free with tee time purchase. Overall, I expected more but if the green fees are below $40; it's a deal.
