Pleasant, we’ll organized, good practice, pro shop, and refreshment facilities. Excellent value for the price
Solid course
This is a great place to play. Well maintained. Fairly challenging. Long and wide open. Would recommend again.
Decent public course
A few excellent holes - fairways not in great conditions, most greens ok -
Snail Golf
The course is solid for West/South Los Angeles but wow was it slow. I played it twice this past Saturday and Sunday and both rounds were well over 5 hours. Every par 3 was at least a 2 group backup and the course allows 5 sums. It was very challenging to golf well because each hold was a 10-30 minute wait.
Would only golf here early in the morning.
Solid course
I played w a friend and we got paired w 2 singles. The course layout is kinda boring, not much to work with I guess. The goose population was by far the largest I’ve ever seen on a course. Literally hundreds of geese. Most holes you had to move goose poop before putting. A lot of the fairways had wide patches of dirt and at times you couldn’t easily see the boundary of the fairway and start of the rough. The greens were heavily damaged and I had to fix 3+ ball marks almost every hole because I could tell they were fresh. One of the singles paired w us never fixed his hallmark either and said this was his home course. I don’t get that. The restaurant was excellent and overall pace was not terrible. 4:45 minutes to play 18 with a late morning start. I won’t play here again, it should be about 45-50$ a round but they give you a sleeve of balls of your choice and bake that into the cost, we paid 78$ each. Too much. Airplanes constantly taking off. It it was 55-60$ I’d consider coming back but there are too many other courses that are cheaper and in better condition to justify coming back here. But it was solid.
Pace of play
Our round took about 5.5 hours. There was no ambassador to regulate the pace of play. We waited on a multiple par 3s for over 20 minutes. The group in front of us was insanely slow while waiting to take their shot with no one on the green or fairway. Unlikely I will return or even recommend anyone coming to play here. Luckily enough we were able to finish the round. They should refund everyone’s money back.
A little TLC
Great course overall, greens were in great condition the only thing is there were goose and bird droppings everywhere. I know it’s hard to keep them away but ball hit down middle of the fairway and droppings are next to the ball or worse was the ball was in the droppings.
Beautiful Course for the money
This is really fun course for money and provides a nice change from the three Long Beach Munis. it's a bit scruffy around the fairways so if you hit out there, it can be a challenge finding your ball even if it's under your feet. But it's a beautifully laid out course and fairly challenging for a mid-to-high handicap to be fun. Compared with prime time pricing at Skylinks and El Dorado, it's actually a good deal.
