Drove 25 miles on a rainy day and showed up to the course and it was barely raining. The guy at the pro shop tells me that they're actually closing up the course for the day. Can't handle a little bit of rain?
Fine course. Great weather. Excellent views. Course condition very good. Greens super fast so have to be careful.
Greens were fantastic but the fairways were beat up and the tee boxes were not in very good shape. Great layout but very disappointing
Pace of play was horrible took 6 hours for round. The Marshall did nothing to get the one group who was playing slow to speed up. The group took literally 10 minutes on each green.
Overall The course is amazing as far as the settup Is concerned. To me at least. Greens were slippery quick, although the pace of play was not. If the pace was as bad as this time I would not come back. Get a Marshall on the laggers so people can enjoy their round, I went as a single and had to play into a 3 some then had to make it 5 player group by letting the 2 dude see behind us play with us to help with the pace problem that was quite apparent. By the 5 th hole we were waiting on that tee box with three different 4 groups still on the tee. Absurd. That was a Half hour wait and the night some, and it didn’t even pick up at all after then till’ dark. Played 13 I believed in the dark just to get another in. I will play it again, for the sake of actually getting throughout 18 like the game Is intended.don’t get me wrong I’m not one to complain. But it’s just no fun until when you are waiting on people all day instead of even getting your green fees worth. BS. get a Marshall on the clowns ruining everyone’s day ! !
Beautiful challenging course.
This course has a lot of variety, with many elevation changes, and wonderful panoramic views. The fairways were not in great shape, but the greens were tremendous! Rolled very smooth and fast, best i've putted all year. Give it a try, I think you'll have a good time.
Horrible experience. 11am tee time, 3 hrs 20 min later on hole 12 Tee box and had to quit. Simply too long. This is AFTER the twosome in front of us quit and the threesome behind us quit and one in our threesome quit (and others on the course quitting as carts drove by us with golfers complaining simply too long). Even with all these golfers quitting after 9, pace of play still just as slow. Will never play here again. I would rather be told that there is no tee time available and play somewhere else than have my golf day ruined
green is good, fairway may need some TLC.
Staffs are friendly. great value !
nice layout course
the green in very good condition. fairway still seeding should be good in mouths.
I'd play it again
A very nice variety of holes. Fantastic views due to all of the elevation changes, especially on the front nine. the greens and the bunkers were in very good shape. This time of year all courses in S. CA are challenged what with scalping, overseeing, aeration, etc. so I'm not going to hold that against Eagle Glen. But there are quite a few areas that should be marked 'ground under repair' and aren't. Some areas were cart path only as they were quite wet and other areas were quite dry. The clubhouse and pro shop are really, really nice.
Pace of play
The golf course needs to be rearranged, number 10 should be number one and so forth, it took us 5 hours and 40 minutes to play, we argued with he group ahead of us due to their slow play, no Marshall on the course, no help from the staff, the last time I play this course,
Nice if there was notification about the aeration being worked on. 5 1/2 hour round. no marshall on the course. apparently, there were 2 tournaments being played. again, no notification. The clubhouse is to far from tee box 9 and 10. if you go to the clubhouse you loose your spot on the course. Number 10 should be number 1 and the course would be fine.
Very slow play again, no Marshall help even tho we called twice..3.5 hours for 11 holes, we quit and left...
Rode the Blues (6279/70.4/131) with JohnnyGK, Hmtgolfguy and Lotrgolfer48 in around 5.5H in the GK Cup 12 Final match. The weather was mostly sunny, breezy and hot. Thanks to John for setting up and coordinating getting 16 guys out for the GK Cup final.
Really like the layout, lots of elevation changes and the greens are challenging. Hilly layout with some forced carries and a few blind shots. Most holes have hazards down both sides, but most are not overly tight. The front 9 is more target golf, the back 9 more wide open.
The Bermuda tees were mediocre. Many needed more turf and divot repair.
The Bermuda fairways were better to play from than they look. Not lush, but I rarely had a thin lie either.
The mostly Bermuda rough was thinner than the fairways but had still adequate coverage. Mowed down, not overly penal.
The fairway traps were okay, more hard packed. The green side sand traps were good. Higher quality sand and decently maintained.
The poa annua greens putted consistently medium speed, were fairly smooth and held well struck irons well.
The customer service was very good from everyone encountered. Drink cart out and making the rounds. Plenty of water stations on the course. GPS does not work on the carts w/o an extra fee. This would be a very challenging course to walk, combination of the hills and the sheer distance from some greens to the next tee. Recommended, fun layout.
One staff cannot handle all
A tournament group was scheduled to play just ahead of us. Still, we had to waste more than half an hour to get carts. Somehow a group behind us had already secured carts, while no carts were available to us despite our arrival about an hour ahead of tee-time. Just one staff endeavored to meet all kinds of customers' demands.
The greens were in very good shape. Some parts of the fairways were overwatered. The pace of play was 5 1/2 hours, due to the slow play ahead of us. Marshall needed on the golf course.
