Windtree Golf Club has a longstanding reputation throughout Nashville for being one of the area's most finely conditioned public courses. The course boasts pristine fairways and smooth greens that putt fast and true. The front nine is a classic links layout, which contrasts nicely with the back nine where the more dramatic elevation changes come into play. Several doglegs, tree-lined fairways, and some tricky blind tee shots make the back nine a greater challenge. There are also water hazards coming into play on seven holes throughout Windtree Golf Club. One of these holes is the notably challenging par-5 sixth hole. This 524-yard monster has water along both sides of the fairway and requires a difficult second shot onto an undulating green that is protected in front with even more water.

Staff was super, course was great and the day could not have been any better. Great course, great staff, friendly folks, beautiful weather equals a fantastic day!! Look forward to coming back!!
6 HR Round
Tee time was a 1:10 and had to leave at 6:00 on the 15th due to time. Apparently the ranger leaves early after as I recall this happening before. 6 round is ridiculous!!!
Windtree Golf Course
My first visit to Nashville area and I had time for a round of golf. A friend recommended Windtree and I absolutely enjoyed it. Granted the course was dormant and very wet from over night rain. The layout is wonderful, challenging and forgiving. I recommend this track to anyone of any age. I can't wait to play it in the height of the season.

No aerification alert, no good communication
Booked because there was no aerification alert, then went to the course website to find that they had aerified recently. Tried to call Golfnow to switch reservation to another course. Golfnow listened, and called the course to check up. They were told that "the greens were fine". They weren't, at all, and it was packed for Friday mid-day. The course seemed like it would be nice, but it was hard to tell with the greens as they were and with the slow pace of play. Staff was super nice. Potential, cool layout, likely won't be back.
Reasonably testy
I always enjoy Windtree. Course is consistently in good (not always great) condition, and it offers an interesting mix of difficulty & playability. Only 6100 yds from white tees and pretty open on some holes, there are plenty of places you can't just "smash & dash".
Great day for golf
There were a number of wet spots on the course but mostly alleviated by cart path only on those holes. Greens were actually in very good shape for being basically winter golf! A little windy but otherwise glorious to be out and playing golf the first week in March!
Always Beautiful
First time out to Windtree this year. Spring still hasn't popped yet, but the course was in good condition nonetheless. Quiet. Nobody pushing us or in front of us. Can't wait to play this course more during the year.
Very good course
The greens had been aerated about 10 days before. I had called the course before making tee times. The rest of the course was very nice. I will definitely play here again. The staff was very friendly and courteous.
We played for 21.00 each. Well worth that.
Fairways were great. Greens were in good shape but were a little shaggy. The staff was not very friendly. I got the impression they didn't like the fact that I paid such a discount rate.
Needs a little attention.
The course was in pretty good condition. Most of the tee boxes needed to be cut. I only hit in to one sand trap during the round, but I did look in several of them and they need some attention. Most of them had not been raked by previous golfers and none of them had been dragged by the course attendants. Very disappointing.
Fairways and greens well maintained, pace of play excellent.
Fun course to play. Well worth the $52. Not from the area, but will play again if given the opportunity.
A very fun course
I thought the layout was great. there's a valley side and a hills side. The fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. The greens were a little rough, they need some attention. I also played after a best ball tourney and none of the traps were raked and very few divots on the greens were fixed. Other than those few things I really enjoyed my round and I would definitely go back for more.
It's been raining a lot, so the course was pretty wet and Cart Paths only. but the greens are still great!!
It was a great value for the money. Fairways were very nice. Bunkers were a little tough because of all the rain, but it was a great time..
I really love this track
I love this track, it is maintained well, and is fun to play.
Things I wish about Windtree:
#1. Too expensive - I would like to see them charge less to play there; both weekdays and weekends. In fact, especially on weekends.
#2. Change over to Bermuda greens so that they don't have to keep their bent grass greens so shabby during the hotter times of the year.
A little bit of everything
This course is very diverse, open in spots, tight in others..water on some holes, flat in spots, very hilly in others.

Will play it again, watch out for number 6 on the front side it is a water trap.

Nice track. Really wet from the weather, would love to play it when it's a bit drier. Overall a good, recommended course.
