About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2017.
Windtree Golf Club has a longstanding reputation throughout Nashville for being one of the area's most finely conditioned public courses. The course boasts pristine fairways and smooth greens that putt fast and true. The front nine is a classic links layout, which contrasts nicely with the back nine where the more dramatic elevation changes come into play. Several doglegs, tree-lined fairways, and some tricky blind tee shots make the back nine a greater challenge. There are also water hazards coming into play on seven holes throughout Windtree Golf Club. One of these holes is the notably challenging par-5 sixth hole. This 524-yard monster has water along both sides of the fairway and requires a difficult second shot onto an undulating green that is protected in front with even more water.

The course was fun to play. The hilly nature of the back nine was interesting.
I played the course in winter conditions. It was 33F when I started and had rained the previous day. I did the lift clean and place routine to get away from the wet and thin areas. Doing that I really enjoyed the layout. The greens were surprisingly good considering recent rain and cold. They could be very fast and tricky in summer conditions. The hills on the back nine made the course interesting. I scored we'll considering the weather.
Best course in middle Tennessee....Bring your A game....
We play almost every week. We play many of the courses with-in an hours drive from Wilson County. Wind Tree is by far our favorite. The staff will make you feel like family and the course will really test your game. Best kept secret in Wilson County....
Great couse condition considering dormant grass
Will definitely be back in the spring to play when course is lush and green. Great elevation changes greens were acceptign balls very well and rolled true. The only thing is that yes I booked on Golfnow and got a deal but man they only give you like 25 balls to warm up.
Needs work
This course is a nice course to play but for 50 bucks the greens are not in good shape at all. It was difficult putting because of all the divot marks and dead areas that were not taken care of.
Nice greens, nice course
Windtree is a well maintained course (except for the bunkers for some reason). The greens have been very nice every time I have played there, but they historically have had a little trouble with disease on the 18th green. Nonetheless, this is one of my favorite courses to play in the Nashville area. It is challenging, yet fair. The par-5's play relatively short and are typically reachable in 2. There is one monster par-3 that plays about 220 yards, but the rest are short to mid-iron shots.
some interesting holes , better back then front
Its hard to give this coarse a really high rating as it rained very very hard that morning. The front was very wet when we finally tee off. As we made our way to the back nine the coarse had dried up nicely and I was glad as the holes were much more challenging on the back and you needed that extra role on the fairways to make the green in regulation. I must say the coarse must have been in great shape and well looked after to dry up that nicely after all the rain.
