Don't buy the PDP and keep your hands on your wallet !!!
I lived here until 2022 and played both courses many times. This January I asked about the winter membership and found out it had tripled. I bought the PDP membership in 2021 and it was pretty good for practicing, so I came back in February and asked about the PDP again. Was given the price, told it was a great deal and that there were no charging privileges (which I didn't ask for or care about). I bought the membership and was told it would be prorated for the month. My credit card just got charged for the 2nd month. I called to say I no longer wanted the PDP cause leaving for the north, and to see if it could be reversed. I was told no prorating (which they'd already done) AND that I'd see ANOTHER charge next month cause there's a 2 month minimum (which I was NEVER told). The Accounting person asked if I wanted her to send me a copy of the rules, which I declined. I don't know if it's the new owners or a COVID bounce back effort, but it seems like this course will take every opportunity they get, to 'CLIP' you. I won't be back and I won't bring our winter guests to play here again... this year or anytime in the future.
Better than the Hills.
Play both LPGA tracks multiple times a year. Best public courses in the area.
Greens are fast and roll well. Lots of grass in fairways compared to other Florida courses at this time of the year.
Lots of great merchandise on sale in Pro Shop.
They could use a Marshall.
The one group had 3 empty holes in front of them but eventually they figured it out and it looked like they played a scramble.
Good not Great
Pro Shop greeting was friendly.
No sign of the starter when we arrived at the first tee. Prior two groups teed off without even seeing the starter. Starter then shows up just as we are about to tee-off (10 minutes behind time already) and greets us by simply announcing that we need to combine from 3 power carts to 2, even though there was no apparent power cart shortage. No friendly greeting.
Pace of play for the front nine was quite slow. Course Marshall drove past without even speaking to us to let us know the reason for the slow pace and what was being done to speed things up. Pace picked up on the back nine - no explicable reason.
Course was in decent shape except that the bunkers weren't properly raked. That could simply have been a reflection of the poor etiquette on the golfers earlier in the day.
Course great. New carts with gps no so good.
The course was in good condition. The new carts have gps. 100 yards from the green the cart indicated I was in the forbidden zone and then stopped. I had to push the cart backwards. 10 yards to get it going again. This really was aggravating and threw my game off.. sorry but this was unacceptable.
Good course
Course was in good shape. Fun layout. Driving range was reduced to small area with no grass. This is temporary but frustrating. Pace of play slow. Our group of 4 waited on almost every shot. 4:45 to play.
Great Place to Play In Daytona Area
I have now played this course about a dozen times while down here on vacation. It is always in great shape and worth the money. Only place down here that I can say that about every time I have played it. The greens are great and roll true. Fairways and tee boxes are also in great shape. Playing early in the morning is great for pace of play.
Poor Pace of Play
First time playing LPGA course. Booked a 1:22pm tee time. Sun didn't set until 6:12 so I assumed 5 hours would be plenty of time. Well the sun set as we finished 18. I knew there would be an issue when the group in front of us was allowed to hit multiple balls off the tee. The starter didn't say a word. We finished the first hole 30 minutes after teeing off.
Beyond waiting on every single shot the entire round, the cart girl came around once and we never saw the marshall again to help move things along. Played with a regular and he says it's always slow here in the afternoons because the tee times are too close together so they're overcrowded. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Snails pace
Very nice layout and moderately challenging course. BUT, pace of play was terrible. Two groups ahead of us was a foursome that had multiple open holes in front of them, which resulted in our group waiting on every shot. Could not get into any type of rhythm of play. Will not play this course again or recommend it to any friends.
Day we played was golf cart paths only and the carts had no sand bottles for repairing divots. The racks were out, so I know they have sand bottles, but no bottles. The fairways were soggy and they were taking a beating.
Golf cart chaos
Arrived at LPGA at 12:00 for lunch prior to 2:00 tee time. Checked in with starter before lunch. After lunch, checked in again with starter at 1:00 to move to driving range prior to tee time. The starter informed me there was a shortage of carts so I waited. Soon the check in area became packed with golfers checking in and all waiting for a cart. Because of the delay caused by lack of carts, golfers were unable to reach the tee box in time to make their scheduled tee time. Golfers were not using the driving range due to lack of carts to transport to and from the range. Delays quickly developed and play was over 30 minutes behind. Due to delay and slow play, my group was only able to play 14 holes before daylight faded. Multiple carts broke down on course which caused further chaos. If you don’t have the carts to support your tee times, don’t book them. I’ve golfed at LPGA several times over many years but I’ve never experienced such a chaotic experience.
Fair and entertaining layout
Course is laid out in a way that both my wife and I enjoyed the day.
Where Was the Customer Service?
The course was great. But the staff were almost nonexistent to barely helpful. There are two courses and no one directed me to the one I was playing; no staff was present to ask. A temp range was in use with no communication as to where it was. Fun track, wish the staff matched.
