Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.

Poor condition
Tee box has little grass, green poor condition. Although the lay out is nice, with water in several holes, poor green condition makes it less enjoyable! Not recommending to any good players
Pace of Play
HH has come a long way in the past 6 to 9 months. The greens are in good shape and rolling nicely. The fairways especially have come around in a major way. However, the pace of play is in question. I think it should be mentioned in the club house to maintain a decent pace. I am surely no scratch but I'm aware if I'm being pushed because I might be slow.

Great time at HH
Good golf at HH. Course is in great shape. Wish the restaurant stayed opened past 3:00. Cart girl was also great.
Good value
This is a fun course and unique to Jax with its elevation changes. Weekday play is generally pretty sparce, so tee times are usually available.

Twosomes everywhere
Get to the first tea and they are already behind and there is no starter and there were five groups of twosomes. Needless to say the round was painfully slow and obviously no ranger so all you need is one twosome to hold up the whole golf course and that’s exactly what happened, Won’t return until I see some reviews that say this has been fixed

Great Layout - Pace of Play Not So Much
This is actually the first time I've complained about pace of play at Hidden Hills. We started out with a 30-minute delay with no explanation and then throughout the round we were stacked sometimes two to three foursomes on a hole. Never saw a ranger on the course to monitor pace to play. After 5 hours we finally stopped after #16. The group in front of us skipped 16 and I presume they went on to play 17.
I chalk this up to an anomaly for Hidden Hills. Usually pace to play is normally within 4 hours and 15 minutes.
Would still highly recommend Hidden Hills as the layout is awesome.
