Nashboro Golf Club
About
Nashboro Golf Club sits just outside of Nashville's city center, and offers good times and good tests.
Nashboro Golf Club is home to a classically designed par-72 championship golf course that measures 6,887 yards; manicured Bermuda fairways give way to premium bentgrass greens. Grass aficionados will also be happy to know that the fairways and roughs both get plenty of rye grass seeds during the winter, allowing for ideal playing conditions year-round. All levels of golfer can get into the course's beauty - the fairways are lined with both mature trees and great vistas - and the strategically-placed water hazards and bunkers will also challenge seasoned golfers and novice golfers alike.
After - or before or both - a round of golf at Nashboro Golf Club, grab a round in the clubhouse's full-service bar and grill, which offers a casual vibe.

Decent course
Course was in pretty good shape. Driving range was a bit rough. Lots of elevation changes, and challenging holes. Would recommend this course to those visiting the area.
Great layout
This course had a challenging but fair layout that was loads of fun for a low handicap and a high handicap to golf together.
Grass still dormant
Bermuda Grass still prettdormant and bathrooms on course not open yet ( freezing temps may still remain) ,But we enjoyed our day on the course , The price made up for the conditions ( most holes other than par 5 s closed to carts).
Pace of play a little slow with no marshal to speed up a slow party two groups ahead but we finished in 4 1/2 hours so not too bad given 90 degree rule .
Would definitely play again we had a wonderful day !
Decent Value
For the price it’s not too bad. A few things keeping it from being a great course:
- Pace of play is a joke. We spent about 5.25 hours getting though 17 and ultimately just skipped hole 18 to save 15 minutes.
- No carts in parking lot. This place is acting like a CC with no carts on pavement, and it has a hill leading to clubhouse. Was super fun to see my dad carry clubs up for no reason.
- No Marshall. The pace was a joke because no one was speeding anything up
Mixed Feelings
Overall the course was decent and I think fairly priced for the current condition. The course doesn’t drain as well as some local courses in the area, it was pretty damp after a Friday rain, which wasn’t much. The greens were on the slower side but roll true. The grain of the grass will affect the direction of the put because they are longer. They may be growing them out to aerate them soon. Who knows. Another negative, bunkers are in poor shape. Layout of the course is somewhat challenging, I’d put it on the moderate side. Not super easy but not difficult. The course does play short. Green tees are the tips, but I believe the used to have blue tees. They no longer exist.
Positives - tee boxes were fairly good, fairways dormant of course but also decent, few to no bare spots. Like I said greens roll well
The carts always cause trouble
We were on hole 7 and our cart wouldn’t go forward any more, they have a strict cart path only on most days and even if you barely get off to try to turn around they will shut down. However our cart was sitting on the cart path and wouldn’t go, only would go in reverse, then got it to the next hole driving backwards and it quit completely. I called the club house which first had to run through a third party system after being on hold, then when we finally got connected the cart guy was not professional at all and was a dick about basically calling me stupid for not using the cart right. Everytime I’ve played this course we’ve had cart problems, and after them being rude to me I won’t have to worry about it any more because I’m done there. $60 a round is to much for bad service and cart difficulties every time.spend your money else where
Good bang for your buck
Course conditions were not good because it had been raining heavy they few days prior, but it is a great layout and a course I definitely want to go back to. Very friendly staff.
Great Staff
The staff that work this course are the best!!
We really enjoyed our winter round of golf over Christmas break !!
Great Value Course
Its been a while since I have played this course, so I figured I would give it a try. I was greeted by a very friendly gentleman when I walked in who explained to me that they were under a frost delay and that when play resumes it will start on hole 4. Not a big deal. The clubhouse is dated, but nice, and has a pretty substantial full service restaurant and bar with average/low prices for a golf course in the Nashville area. The pro shop is somewhat dingy and appears to need a good cleaning but other than that it is fairly nice.
Carts were exceptionally nice for a course of this nature, with fully functioning GPS and comfortable seats. Nashboro has no driving range and a mediocre at best putting green, and pace of play is always very slow due to the demographic of the players, which is the main reason it gets a 4 star in my book.
The course itself is beautiful, it winds through the hills of Nashville and the layout is pretty nice and definitely rewards you for hitting your spots off the tee. The tee-boxes are well manicured, the fairways are a little spongy, but nice nonetheless for winter golf, and the greens were in pretty good shape, however the speed does vary on each and every green which was frustrating for some of the people who were playing with me. I will say they do need to work on blowing the leaves and debris off the greens, most of them did have a significant amount of leaves on them.
For the money, Nashboro is a great golf course to go out and have a round with friends and just relax, in no way is it a championship level golf course, but it is a good course nonetheless, I would highly recommend.
Best of Both Worlds
This course combined the best of hilly wooded terrain with Bermuda surface.
Great to get out in Nov
Course conditions for this time of year we're fine. Greens were in good shape and rolled well.
My only complaint is they need a ranger on the course. Threesome 2 groups ahead held up the entire course. Our foursome waited on every hole. Often when we finished a hole the twosome ahead of us was just teeing off. Total round took 4.5 hours. We should have been able to finish in 3.5 if we didn't have to wait.
Would like my money back
They should tell people they are shutting down tee boxes and turning par 4s into par 3s in the middle of the fairway on a hill. Not a good look
Good value, one of the better public tee times courses
The greens are in great condition, pace of play can be a little slow sometimes, good selection of drinks that can be made or bought. Great value to play 18 and the price includes the cart. Not an easy course but not overly challenging.
Just Visiting
We were in town for a few days and wanted to get a round of golf in. This course was described as friendly and fun so we gave it a try. We were pleased to find both of these to be true. The course was busy that day but we were able to complete our round in less than four hours, even while in site of the groups ahead and behind us. The course was in good condition and the staff was very helpful and friendly. If I find myself back in Nashville I will be returning.
Under Construction
I really like Nashboro Golf Course. The rolling hills and the elevated tees and greens are a lot of fun to challenge.
Unfortunately, two of the best par fours are under construction, so they have been converted temporarily to par threes. In both cases, the great elevated tees have been taken out of play and you end up teeing off from the fairway a hundred or more yards closer to the green.
Judging by the current progress, I will guess that this situation will continue until Spring of 2024 at least.
The rest of the course is in great shape and was very enjoyable.
