Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses
Course was burned out but fun
The best part about the couse was the friendly pro shop staff.
Course was in terrible condition. It was worse than playing on a cow pasture. Damage from flood over a year ago has never been repaired. There were areas of sand that the cart barely was able to get though. Holes 1 & 10 were the worst no grass on the fairways at all.
It’s a shame to let the course be so bad and still allow play.
I played her before and it was not like this. I was appalled
First time visitor but probably won’t be back for a while till they figure the damage out. 1 and 10 are playing as par 3s, the driving range no longer exists, and the course is more or less in disrepair compared to other courses in the area. Couple of the bright spots would be the greens are in pretty good shape, the carts are fast, and the course would be fun based on the layout. Unfortunately it has the feel of a place that’s playable but the has much room for improvement, i just hope they haven’t given up on it.. oh and there’s no cart girl so stock up beforehand.
Waste of time
I have nothing good to say about this course. First of all, there was no mention about shortening the 1st and the 10th tee box. Instead of expecting a par 5, both tee boxes were down to 156 yards..
Couldn’t play the 17th hole because they had the maintenance crew out there punching the greens and the flag wasn’t even there,, let alone them exknowledgeing that I was at the tee box.
Overall, if anyone ask about this course, I would highly recommend NOT to play here..
Got what I paid for
I paid $22 for a Golf Now hot deal and got my money’s worth. That said, the 1st and 10th holds are essentially out of play and are both par 5 holes that have been converted into par 3s. And there was no mention or warning online or by the pro in the shop upon check in. The layout is okay, there is a lot of water and a few memorable holes. But the overall conditioning was sub-standard. One of the greens was completely sanded. The cart paths are falling apart, the on-course bathrooms are closed and signage between holes is lacking. Even the parking lot had the feel of a ghost town upon arrival. The website photos show a golf course in its glory days, but after playing it, those days seem long ago. If you’re looking for rock bottom prices for 18 holes in Palm Springs then this is the place for you. But for twice the price, you can surely find something that offers a much greater golfing experience. Again, you get what you pay for. Buyer beware.
They're dealing with flood damage to #s 1 & 10
I would wait until the Fall of 2020 before I played again.
One of the tougher tracks in the valley.
This year in the best shape ever. But now they are laying off of the water and letting the course dry out...go dormant- they call it!
Golf course in poor condition
Played course many times in previous years. Course was dry. Grass completely gone on almost every hole. Mold in many places. Ground keeper seams to have lost his pride. Home owners should be embarrassed of their golf course. Like playing Cathedral Canyon. CC. Should not be in this condition.
Played as a single early on Monday hoping to skate through. Found I was behind a group of seniors who graciously let me skip through the 2nd par 5. I was on my way and was then able to play it on my way back around. Course is in some disrepair from rains so it’s not a true 72 par. But, the fairways and greens were top notch and a pleasant surprise. Would put them against any other course I’ve played in the last week. Staff was great and the price was right, which included 2 drinks after the round. Was a nice morning and relaxing for me. Not a top tier course but was lots of fun.
Number 9 and 10 have been turned from par 5 to par 3 due to water damage. Beware of the on course washrooms. Always dirty and disgusting. If the plan is to NEVER CLEAN THEM THEN CLOSE THEM as they are an embarrassment to the course, to t3 Welk foundation and the entire community.
Didn’t play. I canceled with the. Course on Tuesday. We have spent 2 days trying to get to Palm Springs but due to weather we have not made it. Trying to fly tomorrow.
The weather was perfe t. Course has ni e wide fairways and some interesting holes. I recommend t it.
Good course, give it a try
Good course, not a tier 1 but some very interesting and fun holes. A bit "tired" in places and there was some significant flood damage. They lost their range and parts of the first and tenth holes. They have been reduced from par 5 to par 3, not a big negative. Both my wife and I enjoyed our day and we would go back and recommend it to our friends.
Greens Good - Two Fairways Washed Out
This is one of the many condoball specials in the valley, winding its way through stucco bungalows. Lots of water on the course, and I wasn’t driving it well, so I was in there a bit. Grass was okay and the greens were very good, but the recent storm has washed out the fairways on one and ten so they are now par threes. This was considered in the very fair price of $22 which drew us here, and I would say that I would recommend the course if you were looking for a cheaper round within this seasons higher prices.
Poor Service Attitude
They wanted to charge me a price higher than my pre-booked Golf Now price and feigned unawareness. The starter was cold and rude. They push you onto the course as soon as you get there regardless of your actual tee time, no time to even take some warm up putts or really get ready to play No respect for the customer. A shame, the course is pretty good but they treat you like dirt.
