Much better value elsewhere
I know it was a Sunday but play was very slow and no rangers to be found. You lose ball move on it’s only a ball. Tee boxes were bare. No one rakes the traps. Fairways were beat. The course is only a few miles from much better courses for the money.
The clubhouse and pub were very nice.
Keeps getting worse and more expensive
I used to love thos course. It's never been in great shape, but was a pretty great bargain course. Over the past year, the price keeps going up and the conditions keep getting worse. Somehow they keep getting busier at the same time. They just pack people in with no regard for the pace of play. Close to $40 to play a 6+ hour round of golf, with bald greens and no definition to the fairways, is just unacceptable. Between the price and the number of people, they are raking in the money and putting nothing back into the course. They can't even hire a starter or a cart washer. I gave a higher staff rating only because Crista on the beverage cart is the best. Probably not going back until some serious changes are made, even though I live really close. It's too bad because golf is the only business thriving through COVID, but they are obviously just pocketing every extra penny rather than making improvements like other courses are.
Waste
Horrible. Frome start to finish. Tee time was at 11 didn't tee off till 1135 because it was so backed up. It was so backed up. The conditon of the course was alright. At best. I'll play heritage isle next time if im out this way.
Really need a Starter and Ranger for the course!!!
Great layout decent course conditions after the tropical storm and the amount of rain the area got. Only 3 bad holes with water. Greens were fair just needed to be rolled. The worst thing about this course is that no Starter on the first hole so very hard to know who’s first or the order since most people lie and want to go first and are not paired up for a foursome a lot of twosome are out there holding pace of play to a stand still. Also no rangers to push the pace. Other than that great course and value for the area and love the bar and patio just need more servers and bartenders but the standout was the very hard working Cart Lady.
Meh
On its best day this course would be average. The rough patches and ground under repair on some greens only increased the difficulty to get a true roll on the already bouncy greens. The course was tight and it was fun to work on some tight shots off the tee but I wish they kept it in better shape.
Tees, greens and beverage cart girl need attention
I've played here many times and this is the worse ive seen the greens and tee boxes. The greens are super fast and some tee boxes are all sand. Should not be charging $37.95.
Despite that, the rest of the course is in good condition and we love the layout.
The staff at mulligans was fantastic and the food was excellent.
Now, the reason i gave 1 star for staff freindliness. The beverage cart girl was the rudest and most unproffesional staff member I have had the pleasure of meeting at this course. So much so i may not return because of her.
My group made the turn and hit the rest room and grabbed a beer from Mulligans. We were outside by the patio waiting for the rest of our group when the cart girl pulled up and rudely asked us where we got our beers. She proceded to tell us that she is out in the heat 10 hours a day and we should be buying from her. She told us about this crappy special, 4 beers for $18.00, not a great special. She then accused us of having coolers on our carts when we clearly didnt. What is she, the cooler natzi. We know that coolers are not allowed.
Then we find out that she isnt affiliated with Mulligans. She also needs to learn some etiquette when golfers are teeing off. And, this is the second round in a row that a member of my group had to track her down to get there credit card back. Had to wait over 20 minutes after our round.
By far the worse part of the Pebble Creek experience is the aggressive, rude and unproffesional beverage girl. Not sure employees should be berating paying customers because of where they purchased their beverages. I guess its all about the $$.
Oh, and the ranger had the balls to give us crap because i brought a water with me. He also told us that the cart girl is out here 10 hours a day and we should be buying from her. Is that the rangers job?
Soggy Golf Course Which Merits A Review On Another Day
To be fair, it had rained for days prior to our playing - hence the soggy fairways. The course layout is interesting and the staff is friendly. We will definitely go back to get the full Pebble Creek experience when the course is dry.
P.S. We found 20 balls either plugged in the fairway or just off the cart path which is indicative of soggy play.
Long and wet...
Tough conditions, the grass was long, course was wet. Made finding your ball hard to find even around the greens. Great little course and the staff rocks!
Disappointed
After doing some research, this was supposed to be one of the best courses in the area, but it’s far from it. Fairways were basically rough. Bunkers were horrific. Greens were decent but didn’t make up for the day. Not to mention we got backed up so much we left. Would not recommend.
Poor conditions
i realize, an sympathize that it is Cov 19 era, however, not cutting greens, not prepping traps and no grass on 11 of 18 tee boxes is totally not acceptable.. Especially to keep charging full rates for these conditions. Spoke to Ranger/ Starter and Pro about this, and get nothing but excuses. And the excuses are blaming the weather. Yeah its rained alot, but that has nothing to do with cutting greens, taking care of tee boxes, or raking- preeping traps and bunkers.POOR !!!
Poor, just really poor to charge full rate for unacceptable conditions..
