Good course, annoying staff (some of them).
I love this course and play it often. Lately, I've been getting pretty irritated with some of the staff. People in the pro shop are great and the cart girl is the best but the grounds crew and rangers are constantly in the way. During the front 9 yesterday, I had to wait for someone raking the greens on at least 8 of them. Several times he drove by me and cut right in front of me while I was swinging. This has been an issue with various grounds keeping work the past few times I've played here. I appreciate them keeping the course in shape but not while ruining my round. The ranger was slowly driving along the OB area and ponds on almost every hole, looking for lost balls, presumably for his own use. Both of them were just terrible distractions the entire round. With the way the prices have been increasing here, I should not have to deal with these sorts of things.
Once a decade golfer
I played in the early afternoon for a great deal. I was a solo but picked up two other golfers by the end of the round. The course was in good shape and the greens were very fast. I saw some beautiful wildlife and had a great time. After golf I had a great meal at Mulligan’s. Great food and service.
Worst conditions in Tampa
Sand for tee boxes, burnt out greens, cow pasture. Only reason for a 2 star is because the gentlemen in the pro shop was nice. Take your money elsewhere before you break your clubs on the hard “grass”.
Golf etiquette
I've played at this course a bunch of times but when it comes to some people that play there and do not know golf etiquette is what bothers me. There is one golfer there in particular that the past 2 times I've played there does not know the meaning of waiting. The first time he was right behind me and hitting the ball before I left the middle of the fairway and was on me the whole time. Yesterday he was behind me and we asked if I could play through a foursome they said yes. We come to I think the 15th and somehow that same rude guy cut in front of me without asking. I mean we didn't even see him pass us.
Good, Fast Round
Course crowded, but played in under 3.5 hours. Course in pretty good shape despite near drought conditions.
Good Course and Great Price
To start off, The staff was very friendly! The fee is very reasonable.
The course is nice, but I’m not a fan of the tee holder in the cup. When yo put the metal holder for the flag sticks up, so the ball will pop out. Other than that, it’s a great course!
Thank you Pebble Creek for staying open during the Covid-19 situation. Helping me keep my sanity!! Haha!
Good layout
I have always enjoyed playing this coarse and have played it many times. I love the layout but with the dry weather this year the fairways are thin and bare in spots, the greens are in fair shape and putted well, I don't know why they have the cups to where you can't really pull the pins when putting. I know you can leave the pin in the hole when putting but if you pull them the way they put the cup in the hole the ball may bounce out because the cups are so shallow but I still like the coarse.
GoodDayGolfing
We always enjoy Pebble Creek. The course was not in great condition but we enjoyed our round nonethelless. We appreciated the extra care taken to keep the round sanitary during the Corona virus crisis.
Tee Boxes Need Work - Greens Are Nice
First thing you will notice is the tee boxes are rough. Florida needs some rain for sure. Otherwise most greens are in solid shape. Some holes you don't want to be on certain side of the greens due to some large bare spots. It didn't hamper my round but my partner's round struggled at times because he ended up over there. Fairways are in good shape. There are a decent bit of woods and water on this course so if are a bit inaccurate off the tee, you will pay. Pending the price, I will come back. It was very crowded Saturday.
Need water but good course
The Restaurant was open so at the end of 18 a glass of wine was great!
Enjoyable round of golf
This course is picturesque. Course layout was good, lots of water but unless you have a terrible slice or hook, most of the water doesn't come into play. Some tee boxes need work, some have new sod that will green up over time. Some of the greens were a little patchy , but not enough to have a negative effect on your game.
Diver was not always my first choice off the par 4 and par 5 holes, some tee shots needed a little more finesse,
Price was reasonable for the "on" season compared to other courses in the area. I'll play there again!
The rating is to high
The staff was friendly. The greens were quick. The fairways below average and the condition of the tee boxes were in poor condition showing a real need for both grass and water. Perhaps the rating for this coarse is a little high.
Excellent Course - Greens Lacking
The course layout is excellent. Despite short yardage challenging in most aspects. Tee’s, Fairways and bunkers were generally in very good condition. The greens were patchy at best. On some of the holes the location had been changed many many times and every old hole location caused uneven puts. Several times had to give and receive relief for bald patches of the greens. I will be back but still work ahead.
Small greens
Great layout, but small greens.
Tough to hit in regulation.
lotz of chips, for me anyway.
Overall, a good day.
Dry as a bone
Greens are dry dry dry and the gold trees were more dirt than grass, will play it in April to be fare .
Wayne USA
Course in ok shape most greens need attention.
But overall for the money good.
Great course. Little bit of water, little bit of woods. Lets you enjoy your round.
Pebble Creek golf club Very good course nice layout
Excellent golf course, starter got us out as a twosome right on time, pace of play very good 3-1/2 hour round, water in play on many holes not really in play. Greens good condition, restroom on back nine could use a good cleaning, and no cart person are the only negatives we found. Would definitely play again next visit to Tampa area.
