Closed for Covid-19
Closed although tee time was booked on GolfNow. Not a big issue, just info for those looking to play.
Course with challenging layout and good value
Played a round in a cold and windy weather. Course layout was challenging and fun. Need more work on bunkers. Good overall value.
Not worth $82 on a weekend. Tee Boxes were terrible.. Multiple holes where the grass was over grown, or on the Par 3 13th no grass at all (Blue Tees). Fairways and greens were in good condition, especially after a few days of rain. Course is always challenging, but with better options for the same price in the area (Goose Creek, Oak Quarry) or cheaper (Eagle Glen, Glen Ivy, Los Serranos), Hidden Valley will stay behind those.
Great Course, slow play
The course was in great shape. We had beautiful weather. To bad it was ruined by slow play and a complete lack of respect for the facility by the players. The greens were in good shape other than I was having to replace 2-4 ball marks on every green other than my own. Anyone that has played this course knows how the golf carts slow to a crawl on the downhill portions of the cart paths. Well someone in the group in front of us still managed to run a cart off of the side of the hill and into a tree. Our round time came in at 5 1/2 hours. We had up to four groups on one hole. When I asked the groups what the holdup is, I did not get a response due to a language barrier.
Still a great course
I give a 4.2 stars from tee to green. Like most courses in Socal the fairways this time of year is a little beat up and the bunkers have standing water. The greens are in great shape. Always a favorite of my crew. Hope the upcoming rains don't mess up the course even further.
Tee boxes and bunkers
Been coming here for a while and was really disappointed the last time I was here. Bunkers were full of water and muddy and it hadn’t rained in a while. Stopped coming for about 6 months to a year and the bunkers are better so they are trying but the tee boxes are jacked. They need a little love. For the price I can go play Goose Creek which is light years ahead of hidden valley in up keep and maintenance. Love the layout. Tough course. Just need to focus a little more on the up keep or drop your prices by 20 bucks.
Great layout, nice conditions, reasonable price....BUT... the slowest round of golf ever! In excess of 6 HOURS! Drunken group ahead who played a boombox and spent most of their time bullsh--ting, yelling and wasting time! The group ahead were 4 "ladies" 3 of whom had no business trying to play a course of this difficulty. It was painfully obvious that none of them had any interest in moving along. The absence of any marshals on the course greatly added to the unacceptable pace of play. This is the SECOND time we've taken forever to finish at this course! Never again! Pity! It's a nice course.
Narrow but fun
If you aren’t accurate with your driver put it away. Most holes you can play a 200-220 club with accuracy and be in a really good spot!
Monday morning fun
Staff was friendly, course was decent, couple tee boxes need help. All in all, ok value. Cart had issues, kept shutting off. Staff helped out with voucher offer and will be back.
I love this course but... not the “mud bunkers”
This is a gorgeous course to play and can be tough. I have played it several times and always enjoyed it. This last time was a horrendous experience because of the sandy bunkers, oh wait let’s call them what they really are “mud bunkers” for they had no sand and were hard packed mud. To management: How about putting some sand in them?
Sand Traps need WORK
Great layout. The bunkers however definitely need more sand in them. Hard packed. Felt like cement. Greens were okay. Very challenging course
Course in good shape. A few dead spots in fairways but over all good. All things considering, price, quality, layout, is really good. Only thing preventing to being my favorite is pace of play. Hello d rather pay $20 more and cut round from 5 to 4-30 tops round
First time playing Hidden Valley. One of our groups new favorite courses in the IE. Challenging layouts, course conditions were great. Pace of play was great through 9 and slowed a little on the back 9. Would recommend checking out this course.
