Northdale Golf Club
About
Northdale Golf & Tennis Club remains one of the premier Tampa golf courses because of its affordable play, its use of water on 11 of 18 holes, bunkers, rolling undulations and contoured greens that really challenge players. Just 12 miles north of Tampa International Airport, this is a neighborhood golf course with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that will add to the enjoyment of your day. Renowned golf course architect Ron Garl designed the par 72, 6824-yard championship golf course. Northdale Golf & Tennis Club winds its way through 180 plus acres of property that is home to Brushy Creek and a series of small lakes and unspoiled wooded areas.

All greens were sanded.
We played the first 9 holes twice because all 18 hole greens were sanded.
I have played this course many times through the years. I have been staying away because the course had really been run down. Still not in great shape but I am encouraged by the progress from the last time I played there a few months ago. As long as you can get a good rate on golf now it is worth playing. I still would not pay $40 or $50 to play there.
Run Down
The course is very run down and just not taken care of. Will most likely not play here again and check out other local options instead. We were left disappointed.
Conditions have improved over the past 2 months. The condition of green on the first hole has always been problematic but the next 16 greens were much better. The layout is worth the trip.
Needs more love
Course has a great layout and great potential - however it’s got a lot of burn from tee box to green. Kids play free so that lessened the blow of the conditions but it won’t have a replay again for me.
Course is in shambles do not play
The superintendent was fired for cost cutting and the course looks like it has not been maintained in 2 years!!! Massive holes dry patches everywhere and bumpy greens! Absolutely a waste of money!!!
Course
I played here a few times and enjoyed it.The price is good, but need maintenance to work on freeways and greens. It a beautiful course layout, but it needs work.
Needs work
It’s a very nice layout. Enough challenge without being silly. Most of the greens are nice but a handful are almost unplayable including the first hole. A couple others are not even worth putting on Red flags usually mean front pin position. Blue for the back. Not here, very confusing!! Staff friendly and professional from the pro shop to cart guy and bartender. nice electric carts(no GPS) Get the greens and fairways fixed up and maybe I’ll be back. Like it is? Nope!!
Conditions
Extremely poor grounds' conditions. Lots of areas were really soft/mushy and extremely muddy on the fairways, on the rough, and even on some greens. A lot of the greens had some major sand patches, it felt as if the greens had sand-traps, and also lots of roughness and patches of grass.elevated from the normal grassy green. Lots of holes on the grounds and around many of the greens. I have loved playing Northdale Golf Course since day one I tried it, but I must say whoever is managing the course is doing an extremely poor job at it and is going to cause Northdale GC to loose a lot of its guests/patrons/members!
New ownership unaware of how to maintain good course conditions
This used to be a great place to play
It has hit rock bottom since new ownership has come in
