The Savannahs Golf Course
About
Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

Improvements are Happening
Thanks to the crew for the bunker repairs,
including finally that #18.
Good to know someone's listening.
3 1/2 stars.
great course and friendly staff
The course is challenging and was fun to play. The staff were very friendly and warned is that the course was busy that day. It was a steady 4 hour round. The food in the restaurant was very good and the staff there were also friendly.
Great layout.
Course is in good shape. Lots of water and great layout.
Staff is super nice.
Fun Course but modified check in was a pain...
Have played the Savannah's for years but their process to check in and get your cart is MUCH less convenient. Be prepared to haul your clubs up to/from the clubhouse unless you remember to drop them off.
Otherwise... was a great round!
Poor experience, after 20 years of playing course
Been going to this course for 20 years and have seen the up and downs with change in management/ownership/ course itself. Always enjoyed playing here with the challenging tight fairways/water hazards. Great memories here with friends/ family. Good way to test your skills and have fun. However After not playing here for a few months the staff has changed also with some new procedures. HOA now runs the course “ which is not good for a golf course” trying to be this 5 star top country club/course with procedures but does not give you the experience of that. No golf carts in parking lot, drop bags off but does NOT put bags in cart for you. Which normally when you drop off bags they will put bags in cart and make sure cart is ready to go for you. Starter is like non existent. No real started box just a stand. Not very welcoming with attitude or presence. You must walk up steep inclines to get to club house or carts. Staff was very rude and was rushing you to get on with your tee time. Not informing you what has change. Just assuming you knew. They would inform you is by raising their voice to make sure you have heard them. I ended up not playing and canceling my tee time after all this. I could not tell you how course conditions were since I never felt welcome and never made it to first tee. It’s ashamed this course has changed in my time coming here the last 20 years. I will stick to my normal country clubs/courses then travel to the Savannah county club. I never in the time coming here thought I would write this or think of this would happen. I hope who comes here has a better experience then me. I will be staying away for some time.
Very Friendly Staff
The Staff is amazing. The amenities are well kept.
But this was the hardest course I've played. Narrow fairways with water on the sides, in front , all around on almost every hole. The greens were not in good shape and the fair ways didn't have much in the way of grass..
So so
The front nine was in beautiful shape. However, the back nine was nothing more than a pasture.
Greens
Unfortunately the greens need attention.
There’s a weed growing on all but 3 greens
The ball jumps left or right while
First Time Visiting The Savannah’s
First time visiting the Savannah course. I found the course to be in very good shape compared to some reviews I read from a couple years ago. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. My friend that was playing with me, sprayed a ball into one of the water hazards on the course, and the Ranger saw this when we were playing and stopped by and gave him a couple extra balls. The beverage cart ladies on the course were also very helpful, came around four times on our 18 holes and the prices were not outrageous like some courses can be. The course is not outrageously long, but if you want to shoot a good score, you need to keep your ball and play. I recommend if you are in the area it’s a fun course to play!
Much improved!
Conditions at the course are much improved and with continued attention to detail it will be a track that is worth playing more than once. Be prepared to lose balls though as this course is tight. One big addition needed is a sign on the 5th hole giving a distance to the hidden water hazard. A simple task which only has to be done once to help all those golfers playing the course for the first time
True Florida course
Good value nice course a day friendly staff .. going back in few days
