Trump National Doral Miami - Blue Monster Course
About
Trump National Doral Miami offers five 18-hole courses, but the Blue Monster is the most well known. Originally designed by Dick Wilson, the golf course has been updated throughout the years by different architects to keep the challenges current. The course calls for strategy as well as distance. The fairways are infamously long and the greens are undulating. There are several water hazards that come into play as well as bunkers and deep rough. The Blue Monster's signature hole is the 18th with its trademark fountain; it was named by GOLF Magazine on of the top 100 holes in the world.

Elegant but tacky
No doubt an elegant course in pristine condition, ... but
Starting at the driving range - after paying $250 for my round I don't expect to have to hit off a mat at the rang using old battered Taylormade balls that you'd find at a muni. Bunkers had no sand and were hard packed. Many, many bunkers so to save a bit of money there was only one rake per bunker, usually buried in the tall grass surrounding the bunker. By hole 14 with a 4some on our heels we gave up searching for the rake and moved on. Actually didn't make much difference since the ground was so hard there was no footprints. If $250 was not enough it cost $20 to valet your car or &15 for self-parking. Then your clubs got handed over to multiple people all with their hands out expecting a tip. Final indignity was that although I had a confirmed tee time as a single when I got to the starter I was told that the people that the twosome that I was paired with didn't want anybody else with the and I had to wait 45 minutes to go out. Not an overall pleasant experience at a fine course.
Wind tunnel golf
Very windy day on a great golf course. We played 36 that day. Guys we were with wanted to buy Blue Monster gear but they close the Blue Monster pro shop at 4????? Seems silly to have it separate from one of the best pro shops ever. Huge selection and square footage. Should have built the Blue Monster shop connecting to main pro shop. Course was great. We played in 4 hours. Perfect
Over Priced and Underperformed
You’re paying for the name. $700 total after fore caddie fees and the tip (which are mandatory at $30 even for underperformance as my very unenthusiastic, and lethargic fore caddie pointed out). It’s gorgeous but it’s not worth the price nor the prestige it thinks it deserves. Three other courses here are still over priced but in just as good, if not better, shape for half of what you pay (or more) for the Blue Fraudster. Disappointed to say the least.
We had a great fore caddie that really helped us navigate the course.
Very very good condition and cource
It was wonderful. time for beautiful and good course and conditions of fairway and green
Brilliance at its best
Top 10 I have courses I have played in condition and grandeur. If you go in the rough you have to hit a wedge out from wherever you are is the only drawback. Fairways were like carpet and the greens were like velvet but like ice to putt on.
Great Experience
The golf course, pro shops, restaurants, facilities and staff were all first class!
Awesome experience!
The property was grand. Staff was great! Layouts and speeds were challenging. Played both blue monster and golden palms. Anytime you pay top shelve prices, you expect a top shelf experience. We were not disappointed! 1 notch of the bucket list
