Cart path only due to rain
Coming from UK was not used to showing photo id to play golf and then told to tuck my shirt in before being good to go! Everything else fine till a lightning break and lots of rain which meant cart pathes only which is a real pain when you dont know a course for distances. Loved the course but not for those put off by driving off over lakes or streams. Good condition and great to play at offer price.
Upscale course
A golf now bargain. Excellent course layout and maintenance. Definately play if you get the chance. A little short for women from the red tees. Good 6500 yards for the men.
Great value for this track!
Great all around value for this golf adventure. For a 1:30 twosome you just can't beat $17 a piece. Which included range balls with a nice chipping green. I can't wait to take advantage of this steal of a deal again!
course is best kept secret in palm beach county - back tees = pro status
amazing course - back tees are super and challenging
Better Than Before
As a previous equity member at Ironhorse I wanted to see how the course had changed in the previous three years under a private owner. I thought the course was in excellent condition, particularly considering the heavy amount of rain in south Florida this rainy season. The sand traps appeared to be in PGA Tour ready condition. The greens were in generally very good condition with the exception that a number of the front nine greens had freshly laid sod for new collars. Was disappointed that the upstairs dining room was closed on Saturdays during the summer, but the downstairs snack bar was available. Did notice that the course had added new, shorter distance women's Red Tees, and added an additional (shorter) men's White Tees between the Black and Green (former Gray) Tees since I last played Ironhorse three years ago. All in all, Ironhorse continues to be an excellent layout that will be enjoyed by the lower handicap golfer.
Beautiful course. Would play there again.
My friends and I enjoyed the course immensely. We look for your deals so we can play at this course as much as possible.
No GPS
Would be helpful if the cart's had a GPS. There was no layout of the holes on the score card or a course book so many holes we had to guess. Other than that the course was great.
Not in conditions
We use to play that golf before butr NEVER IN THAT CONDITION, we had a special price but if we had know the condition before... There was no grass around the green for deep 36'' for a couple of greens. Very despointed
Horrid Conditions
Played Ironhorse numerous times... This time was a joke. Course, more specifically the fairways and greens were in horrible shape. About a one to two foot border around most of the greens was either missing (all dirt) or fresh sod (not manicured) in place. I simply could not believe they would even post a "Become Ironhorse member for a day" comment on golf now with a so-called rate decrease. This course wasn't worth paying $15 for and they sure as heck purposely avoided mentioning on Golf Now the course conditions before we reserved our tee time.. Horrible course conditions.
Course was wet and sloppy. I'll never go back.
Driving range was "claimed" to be closed yet balls scattered everywhere. Ironhorse residents were rude and unfriendly. Course was wet & sloppy. Terrible expierence. Never recommend.
Great 'country club' course
Nice country club setting. Ironhorse came out of bankruptcy about 3 years ago. Separate company manages the golf course.
Course was soggy due to frequent rains. Large greens, fairways and bunkers nicely maintained.
I played from the black tees(6500 yds). Gold tees are 7000 yds. They need 'blue tees' in between (say 6800 yds) but course doesn't have the land/layout to add the extra tee.
No navigational info on carts and balls cleaners sparse on course.
I'll go back to play the gold tees.
Great course for the price.
Very nice layout and in very good condition. Kept a great pace until the 14th hole, then it got backed up a little. I'll definitely play it again.
Very nice golf course with the rebate!
Very challenging golf course at 47$ (with golfnow) but it does not worth 107$ on regular fees. The fairways and the greens have a very good design. Nice layout too!
Great Layout
Fairways and Greens in Very Good Condition, some of best in Palm Beach County. Was like having the course to myself. I would recommend this course to all looking to have a challenging course mixed with beautiful homes and natural setting. A++
The back nine was better than the first nine.
This course had some beautiful holes. The front nine was not as well maintained as the back nine. It was a rather hot day, and we would have appreciated having more water available (there was only water available outside the restrooms at Hole 8).
Back nine is incredible...front 9 needs some work
The greens were pretty beat up mainly on the front with large patches of sand. Back nine in much better condition and a much better experience...almost as if they were 2 different courses. Would have been nice to see a beverage cart on a busy Sunday.
Fun course to play.
I have played here a few times and the staff is very friendly. The course was in great shape except for the greens which had been aerated and sanded very recently. That is common this time of year in south Florida so I can't complain.
Great Track!
Been wanting to play for a long time but waited for off season rates. Discounted fee today because of green aeration. Really wanted to see layout of this couse which is fantasic! With good greens, this is no doubt a Great Track. Beautiful design, lots of open fairways, but plenty of challenges. Very good range service. Highly recommend (give the greens some more time to develop).
A challanging yet fair course
Played at Iron Horse for the first time yesterday. Course was in great shape. Front nine was airrated recently but still ran quite fast and true.Course overall was very good value for the money.
Nice layout!
This is one of the better Arthur Hills courses you will play. Nice mix of holes with many elevated greens, certainly a feature that you don't see too often down here in South Florida. However there are some spotty conditions on some of the putting surfaces, but it didn't deter from playing this fun course. Got a great deal on GolfNow!
