Great shape right now!
One of the best shapes a course is in in DFW right now. Great great and fairways.
Nice Course
Pairing single players on the same cart
I like this course and always enjoyed a round of golf here. This time the starter wanted to pair me on the same cart with other single player. I informed him I may need to leave earlier and do not want to force someone to return to club house early. He insited that I need to pay extra for the single cart. I told him I paid through GolfNow and it does not indicate anything like that in my reservation. He said he is in charge and will report me to the general manager. He was very rude and combative. The management needs to retrain this guy how to talk to customer and be civilized in his job.
Beautiful, challenging, and hard Pon placements
Played the East Course. Tough course, no on course Marshall and we waited on tee box all day long. Group ahead was really good, and the did not waste many shots. Course in really good shape,, and greens were worn hard, but that comes with play. Pin placements were ridiculously hard. We all love challenges, however when the whole group is 3 putting regularly, they are too challenging. Carts with hole design, yardage data are needed. I’ll play here again.
It’s been a while
Haven’t played Bear Creek in a couple of years, thought I would give it a try over the holidays. Played the East side, the course was in excellent condition, the changes made are great. The course is still a a challenge but now very enjoyable 👍👍
High cost and low value
The East Course at Bear Creek was in great shape. That was it. There was zero water to drink on the course. The only restroom on the course was closed. There was NEVER a cart person to offer us drinks. There was NEVER a Marshall to speed up the group in front of us that was one or two holes behind.
I like that they have added an outdoor restaurant but I don’t think it was open.
The restaurant in the clubhouse was ok. Staff was friendly but they couldn’t offer fries with the hamburger. Tots was all they had. Who doesn’t serve fries with a hamburger??
No GPS on the carts either.
Will Be Back
Haven't played here in many, many years. Just back to the game after some time off so easing back into local play. Used to be about a 10 handicap when I played years ago but now still searching for what my game is.
I really enjoyed my round here. The course was in good condition (except for all the leaves). Really liked the layout.
Pace of play was a bit slow but that was probably just the group in front of us. No marshal or beverage cart during the round so be prepared for that potentially.
Nice greens, rude staff
The layout and greens were great! Two issues: the guy with the beard managing the carts and patrolling the course is a JERK!! I saw him yelling at people about taking carts. You can’t get a key until you check in, and he was jerking keys away from people because they didn’t sign a clipboard. Then he yelled at our group for taking the cart in a dry fairway and told us we would be removed from the course. Jerk Marshall on a power trip. Very rude. All he needed to do was clearly state instructions instead of being a HUGE JERK!!
Second issue: Blow the leaves off the course!!!
Excellent course
On vacation and played in Texas for the first time.
Course was excellent and the pro shop staff made the experience very enjoyable.
Sam the pro shop manager went above and beyond with his welcoming assistance.
Pace was a little slower but was a busy day
MJH Bear Creek
Decent course, pace of play was a little slow but not obnoxious.
Trying to get 18 in
Following a board meeting in the morning, I was trying to beat the dark and get 18 in on a beautiful November day in Dallas. I was able to secure a Hot Deal on GolfNow at Bear Creek. The course is a great layout and was in great condition for November even though the greens were quite slow. Pace of play was great even though there were a lot of golfers. We were able to play in just under 4 hours and beat the dark. The extra bonus of seeing a number of jets taking off from DFW is always an added bonus at Bear Creek.
Beautiful Course
Absolutely beautiful course, had it’s challenging areas which is good. Would play here again
old clunker
We played mid afternoon on the East course. Course was fine...was in pretty good shape given how hot the summer was....However, we got an older cart as they had a lot of cart rentals that day and the newer carts were all out on the course. The starter apologized.. The cart was horrible. Didn't break well, parking brake was difficult to set....my wife and i were repeatedly hitting it on hills... Seat was torn too...didn't do well on hills...just was a flash back to a 1990s old cart... Im exaggerating but it was bad...We stopped at 13 holes as we were sick of the cart and play was a bit slow... Tip...we should have bought some waters before we left as the beverage cart wasn't available on the front 9... I do think 90% of the golfers had newer carts...but doesn't help if its not you...
Louis - We're glad that you enjoyed the course layout and the greens. We've been working very hard to improve the entire experience at Bear Creek for all our guests. The interaction with one of our employees is unacceptable and we will be looking into that situation. Thank you for the support we we hope you will be back soon to give us another chance to make it a 5 star experience! Happy Holidays - Bear Creek Management
