Palmer at Saddlebrook Golf & Tennis Resort
The Palmer Course is one of two championship courses designed by Arnold Palmer at the Saddlebrook Resort just north of Tampa. Although it is seemingly tame at 6,273 yards, it plays much tougher. The golf course features more elevation changes than the resort's other course, the Saddlebrook. The undulating, tree-lined fairways were designed to mimic a hilly New England course but the moss-covered cypresses, palm trees, and marshy swamplands are true to the Florida landscape. The layout features tight fairways framed with contoured mounding and the occasional water hazard but the most formidable challenge comes from the bunkers strategically placed along the undulating greens. The approaches to the tiered greens, which are often sloped from back to front, demand accuracy. Golfers should be prepared to use every club in their bag and employ a variety of different shots.

I really liked the course. Greens were a little slow but rolled very well. Layout was really good and playable. Must play if you’re in the area.
Still too wet and muddy and it hasnt rained for 4 days
Where is the driving range and why isnt it offered?
Driving range is very nice but it's all the way by the front entrance
Terrific layout and extremely challenging
First time playing the Palmer course and look forward to returning. The first 3 holes will test your skills and most greens you need to be pin high or you may be looking at 3 putting.
An enjoyable round
The condition and layout of the fairways
gives you a good chance of hitting the greens.
miss the fairways and it's going to take an extra stroke but still doable.
Greens were great. No stupid pin placements and the puts rolled true.
Excellent course conditions !
The Palmer course was difficult as expected. I enjoyed the consistency in my fairway shots and the Putting Greens. I haven’t been here in nearly 20 years, and Saddlebrook did not disappoint.
Chamber of Commerce day
Course in nice shape no issues whatsoever. Sand traps in nice shape especially.
This is hands down the best golf course I have ever set foot on. I got a big discount on the green fees from the Golf Now app. But I would pay full price to play this course. The greens are extremely fast, and they have slopes and hills. Very challenging but it was nice to see a ball break when it should break. The fairways were in good shape, maybe a tad bit wet, but still very nice. The grounds crew was very polite and would shut off machines when someone was trying to take a shot. That does not happen on some courses.
Saddlebrook Palmer course
From the time you arrive at the front gate until you drive out the property you feel a like you experienced excellent
treatement, an excellent course and a great bang for your buck.
Slow play, poor condition
Played this course 2 days in a row because I stayed on property. The greens were very slow and the course was not the condition you would expect at a resort. The tees were in bad shape, and the play was extremely slow. No ranger in site either days. Not worth the money as there are much better courses to play in the area.
Rush rush rush
Valet parking....rush to get out of the car. Rush to get your gear. Shuttled to the cart guy who could not find your tee time on his sheet...my playing partner was so rushed that he left his phone and wallet in his car...did not realize that until he reached for a tip for the shuttle guy. Not a great reception and not the first time for me. Beyond that staff was great, course was great, facility was awesome. What would make this even better? Self park and a cart pick up or bag drop like the rest of the resort courses do it.
First Time at Palmer Course...
and it won't be the last. I enjoyed my round and the course was in great shape. The staff was friendly and I will definitely play here again!!
Greens need work
Always enjoy saddlebrook on either course. The course in in good shape for late summer, but the greens were not up to par. There wee very rough and did not roll well. Some had patches and still showed aeration holes with sandy spots.
Greens are not up to normal levels
I have played here 5-6 times. Today was bad. Pace of play was 5 hours.....in Florida thats terrible.
The greens were fuzzy, not mowed tight, sand filled and patchwork everywhere. They have really gotten bad since I played there 2 months back. Don't roll true and the ball bounces all over the place. Burnt spots on every green....
The course is beautifully maintained. It is not a long course. The green had be top dressed and, as such, not mowed and pretty slow. But, once we have some rain and the dressing settles in greens should be quite good.Fun course to play.
Staff not friendly, had to valet park and then someone carted you to Pro shop TIP, TIPS, all they seem interested in.. The bag guy didn't even put our bags on cart, just said pick a cart and go. 1st green terrible condition and a few more on the course. They closed the Palmer Course for awhile so why wasn't this course in better shape. Not a RESORT course like I know. Won't go back.
