Mature Trees
Older course with large trees. Very nice layout, not an easy course but also not too difficult.
Great Course - Sadly
Great course. Incredibly friendly staff that is attentive and helpful. Sadly this course has become overcrowded along with the rest of the good public courses in DFW.
If you’re hoping for a 4 hour round, it’s not going to happen. If you can adjust to 5 hour rounds and have patience for the scourge of Covid-golfers it’s ok.
Slow play
Even knowing there will be a frost they still take tee times starting around 7:30…expect up to a two hour wait from your arranged tee time. Staff then try’s to catchup by sending everyone out on top of each other so you’ll have no rhythm in your round and it will take about 5 hours.
Good condition but slow play
Course had some water damage in Oct but it’s still in pretty good condition
Greens were very quick an smooth
The pace of play was a bit slow 5 plus hours to play
I think the need to spread the times a bit more
To be a Saturday the pace of play was great.
Even though there was people in front of me had to wait every now and then at a tea box to play was still fairly fast finished right at 3 hours and 30 minutes.
I quit after 9 holes.
The course was super slow. As a single I tried to join a couple of twosomes but they were all wearing masks outdoors and I think afraid of strangers. I heard the Ranger complaining about the pace of play but I don’t think he did much about it. After a 2.5 hour front 9 I quit. Too slow.
Old course
Always nice to play an older course with large mature trees. Pretty course and challenging holes! Need to play smart shots to set up next shot. Tough but fair course and great amenities and friendly staff.
It was annoying aifplane noise. Other than that it was interesting course. I liked the layout.
Course conditions
I’ve played here before on both courses and I usually like the west course better; however, on this day I don’t think it was up to snuff. Several holes early on were soaking wet with puddles in the middle of the fairway. It hadn’t rained in several days, so not sure what happened there. Other holes had lots of ground under repair, and the bunkers were wet and packed. Not worth trying to hit out of them. Also, the driving range is closed on Wednesday mornings, so no warm up.
Very Pleased Considering
We were warned that due to some weather events we'd had in the area in the previous few weeks that parts of the course had been under water. I was very pleased considering the flooding how well the grounds crew had the course playing. There were a couple of fairways that were being repaired. And a good amount of sand had been washed out of the bunkers, but they were still playable. Greens were in really good shape, and rolling nicely. Really enjoyed the round.
Rude Starter, Great course
We drove up to the number 1 tee box 5 minutes early and looked around for the starter and was nowhere to be found. We noticed the group before us already on the green so we decided to go ahead and tee off exactly at our schedule tee time (3:11) . The starter finally shows up with an attitude telling us we need to check with starter before we tee off and we shouldn’t have started without checking in. We told him we looked for him as was nowhere to be found. He said he was busy with the other course. He just wasn’t professional or friendly and rubbed us the wrong way. It wasn’t the best way to start a round of golf. Everything else was great though! The cart girl Sahara was friendly and helpful! Course is in very good shape.
Pace too slow to play a round
Had some type of tourney that morning, then I guess they decided to shotgun everyone they could off at noon, only got 15 holes in before dark. Thats too much to pay for 2/3rds of a round.
