Great Course
First time playing and I really enjoyed the course. A nice mix of water and green protection by bunkers. Course was in good shape and pace of play was great (tee'd off at 7AM). Look forward to hopefully playing the West course soon.
Decent course
Overall not bad the greens were a bit bumpy and needing of maintenance. The fairway and bunkers were in good shape though. Nice course for the location.
Moved to East course
Marshall was very nice and moved me to East course because there were several kids playing and walking on West course.
Greens were a little bumpy everything else was good
First Time Playing West Course in a few years
Played the West course for the first time in over a year. Fairways and greens are in great shape and pace of play was good considering how crowded it was. Will definitely be back soon to play again.
Good, fun course. A little pricey
Played on a Sunday at 10:18, pace of play was great, staff was very friendly, course was in decent condition and good amenities. A few things to work on: bunkers have actual piles of gravel in them, not awesome. New carts are nice, but the geofencing is a bit aggressive. I was also a little surprised that they didn’t offer a small bucket of balls to warm up with, especially at $90 a round, I felt this was a little steep for conditions.
Winter conditions
Had to wait at every hole for second shot. Greens were bumpy and hairy greens. Tee marker colors did not match score card. Card says Silver marker, but course marker was green.
One of my favorite local courses
They really have upped their game at Bear Creek, great course and 19th hole
Good value
Great value for the course layout and time of year. Pace of play wasn’t great though.
Slowest course ever played
Played our round in Five and half hours! Incredible!
Likely a good course in the summer but during the winter - definitely avoid! Not worth the money but watched a lot of planes fly by.
We waited after nearly every shot with no Marshall in sight.
The cart girl definitely made money!
Try again under better conditions
Played this course once before and liked it just fine. Very slow pace of play that day. This time the earlier part of the week was wet and we had to play the entire 18 holes cart path only. There was no mention of that when we checked in and found out when we got on the course. The starter did not mention it either.
Course touts GPS and its mounter on the steering column where i is difficult to see. Very poor set up and its digital only no course layout available.
Might try the East course since I haven't played that side yet. For $75 not somewhere that will be a regular in my course rotation. Played this one because its conveniently located between me and the person I play with occasionally.
1 Constant Complaint
I have not played these courses in years and I see the same biggest issue still remains. The 1 thing most people complain about is the pace of play on both courses. To put things in perspective, I offer this to Bear Creek management. Tomorrow at the Farmers Insurance Open, tee times are 11 minutes apart with groups of 3 professionals. Tomorrow, on a Saturday (which are usually very busy) you will have groups of 4 amateurs teeing off at 9 minutes apart. Amateurs don't hit fairways and greens as much as professionals, and amateurs can't find their balls as fast as professionals with spotters on the course. So if the pros need 11 minutes between groups to keep the pace of play up, don't you think amateurs need a little more time than that? PLEASE stop thinking about all the money you can make by squeezing as many people as you can on the course. You can make these courses a lot more enjoyable by spreading out the tee times so people aren't waiting every shot. This has been your biggest issue for years. Hopefully management will finally take this into consideration.
Changes
I haven’t played here since last year but I noticed changes all around and the course looks better. The outdoor area and even the indoor areas look great. Course was still a nice challenge and I noticed landscaping done to different areas on the course. I’d definitely play here again
