One of My Most Disappointing Rounds Ever
The layout of the course is very good and was done in a manner to take full advantage of the hilly terrain and rock outcroppings. This should have been the focus of this review; however, the deplorable course conditions with the tee boxes and fairways overshadowed the layout.
The tee boxes were mostly muds / no grass on about one third to half of them for the
Back two tee boxes. The fairways were so wet and muddy / pressed down in spots that they were borderline unplayable. The course / area did receive a lot of rain recently. But this does not explain the lack of grass on the tee boxes or poor condition of the fairways in spots. Additionally this was not mentioned to me when I booked nor when I arrived on the course! When I went to voice my displeasure after the round they said there was nothing they could do, they had a full tee sheet for the day (about five cars in the parking lot when I left) and they can’t control the weather. My response was you can control what you charge! Still said there was nothing you can do.
Golfer be aware that the course is far from peak condition, but still charges peak rates.
Great day
Course was in good early season shape. Despite being punched recently, greens were in good shape, except 18 that has some damage from what looks like a leaking lawnmower. Tee boxes are in better shape and fairways continue to come in. Love the challenge of this layout.
Great Golf Course
Fantastic layout, really enjoyed playing this golf course. Meanders through an upscale neighborhood.
Classy all around
This course reeks of class! From the moment you
arrive it’s a classy experience! The course is well appointed. The pro shop is extremely neat and the staff very professional. The carts are state of the art! Even the score cards are printed on classy paper! The course is still recovering from winter, but the greens are in excellent shape! The many grounds staff on site speak to the care being taken care of to ensure the course is ready for spring and summer play! I will return!
Random Course
scheduled the game while passing through the area. Its off the path so takes some effort to get there. Worth the time. Beautiful course and layout. It had rained so cart path only. Difficult at times due to where the path is in relation to the fairways. Greens recently aerated/sanded so they were rolling slow. Gave me a strong desire to return during season to get the full experience.
Great golfing Experience
Limestone Springs is a premier golf course and doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. I have played at most of The RTJ courses and found this course is as premium as any of them. The course is long enough with great bunker locations, it has water hazards that make it challenging and the wooded hills with its unique landscape is just plan beautiful. The staff is extremely helpful and the food delicious. We played 36 holes and looking forward to returning. I have played most public courses in central Alabama and surrounding areas, and in my opinion this is the best deal in Alabama for the price and all this place has to offer.
Awesome Course, we had a blast
Very nice course, the layout is beautiful and I shot really really good on a non easy 18 holes!!
Best public course in bham
Worth the drive from Birmingham. Closest thing to Shoal that you can get at a public course. Greens are honestly CCB level pure for the most part. Cut through the mountains for a super cool layout. If you haven’t played since the renovations go out and play it.
Great Post Xmas Round
Despite being late December the course is still in very good shape. The greens were fantastic, rolling fast and true. Fairways were dormant but still in good shape. Only sign of the season were thin spots on a few tee boxes. Overall, well worth the cost and an hours drive.
Course was in great shape for winter time and the greens were A+. When I seen it for 37.00 on golf now I was gone!
