the course is in great shape
defined fairways and rough. greens were fast. good change from easy to harder holes. the staff is always very helpful.
Shared a golf cart with a stranger, awkward.
So there I was at this golf course, ready to go and the club house guy tells me that I have to share a cart with another single. I told him that no where in the confirmation from Golf Now states that I have to share a cart. He said tough, it is what it is. What am I supposed to do at this point? So i rode with a total stranger. He was a nice guy, I felt rushed at times, looking for my ball at a course that I never played at. So the moral of the story is take a buddy with you. The course greesn were super slow. The course overall was okay. The starter was a total jerk. Paid 2.49 with my $10 code. Winning!!!!
Always a Favorite
I haven't played here in years, and remembered how much I love this course after circling back. A zillion doglegs, trees, plenty of places where you can lose your ball (should you err off the fairway), scenic tee boxes and just plain old peacefulness. The staff is beyond helpful. It's a solid course and well maintained. Greens were repaired as well as divots in the fairways (I saw this happening while I was there.) I won't wait as long to return.
Recommend this place.
The weather and the veiws where great. I look forward to playing the course again. It is a good course for my skill level with wide farways and the harzards where playable. ( I spent a lot of time in them so I know). I played with seasoned players and they had difficulty on this couse also but it was fun once you got pass the golf language required on a few holes. I recommend this course for the price can't lose.
Fun, Somewhat Challenging Course
Had a noon tee-time with a friend; we played as a double. The fairways were in good condition, as were the greens. The greens are the "classic" style, with a slope back towards the tee. Previous reviewers are correct: Lots of doglegs, and small greens. Made for a fun course.
Would play again.
Nice course
Nice course, average greens, fair fairways all in all fun course, only thing that could use improvement is carts.
Dont go left or right
This course is beautiful and for the price of $30 you can't beat the price. This course is challenging because you need to hit the ball straight if not you have a lot of areas where you can lose your ball in brush or trees if you go left or right on many of the wholes. But for a golfer that is very good at hitting it straight this is a great long course to spend the day at.
Friendly staff. Decent fairways. Slow greens.
Played on a Friday afternoon. This was my first time playing the course.
The course is short, but requires accurate drives. Some elevation changes. The fairways were in pretty good condition for winter. The greens, however, were very slow and irregular.
Overall, good value as I got a tee time for less than $20 from Golfnow.
Good deal
Good course for a reasonable price. Pace of play was great the day we played. Greens were very good, some fairways had bare spots.
Nice little course
First time at this course in a long time. The fairways are not well defined, advantage is you're never hitting from rough. The fairways were a little dry and patchy. The greens were in overall good shape. Enjoyed my round, well definitely go back.
Nice little course
drove by the course countless times. Finally got a tee time while on my way back from Palm Springs. I was presently surprised. Course offered a nice challenge, with small greens and some demanding driving holes. I enjoyed a quick round, and will be back when time permits.
Rain out
Course provided refund as tee times were deleyed because of small tournament and rain.
Crazy holes
The course was clean. Sadly, some on the holes didn't even have flags. Also, finding some of the pins appeared impossible.
course was in good condition
Course was in good shape. Greens needed some attention. Very abused. Overall great day. Staffcwas accommodating for our other needs. Challenging
Greens are in bad shape
I don't normally complain but the greens on this course are in bad shape. They are bumpy and many have other crab type grass growing in them. I have been here many times and they are always the same. The gal who runs the desk isn't always the friendliest either. But hey any day golfing is a good day.
Calimesa is always a challenge due to the doglegs
many inconsistent patchy sections on fairways and greens
Bad greens
The greens looked great from a far! But get on em and plan on sinking! Way over saturated ! Which meant that the bumps were bad from previous golfer s just walking the green! Putts were missed by quick kicks created from the squishy greens
A scenic well groomed cow pasture
The review title says it all. The course is very old and tied, but is a very scenic short course that has lots of a very large well placed mature trees throughout. There are many doglegs where you can't see the green. Greens are very small, near quarter the size to most customary modern courses. Upon my arrival to check-in the counter person was not very hospitable. Didn't acknowledge me at all for a period of time. It was if I was a bother to him. I my opinion this would be a good $10-15 course to play if you wanted to play a course for practice and you were not concerned about overall course condition. The course gives you an opportunity to work on your course management and club selection. Although not a "Par 3 Course", it has the favor of a short executive type golf course.
Nice track
The course was well kept and the staff was very friendly and got me playing as soon as I arrived. I will go back there - great value for the money.
Tough but fun
This course was pretty tough, with all the dog legs and strategically placed trees in the middle of the fairways. A couple of times I had a very good drive, as far as distance, but landed behind a tree in the middle of the fairway. I really had to think what to do for my next shot. Maybe, next time I play this course I'll plan out my strategy for each hole better.
