great bang for the buck
nice, open course
great pace
you will love it as a beginner or as a more advanced player.
food court was closed on monday which was a bummer.
there is nothing close to the place so take a sandwich.
Normally a great course but on this occasion, terrible golf carts!
We were a foursome on a Sunday morning. There weren't a lot of people playing & we were looking forward to a great round. After loading our carts, we found that one of them had absolutely no power steering. I could barely turn the steering wheel. We asked the cart guys if we could switch out & one of them said that they were all like that. We wanted him to try it out, he refused to & gave us another cart. During the front 9, both of our carts' GPS systems began 'glitching' and cutting out. They were basically useless for getting any information. By the 11th hole, the GPS systems on both carts began to reboot continuously & our carts would stop & go constantly in a violent jerky motion, sometimes even shutting down completely where we couldn't move forward. On the 12th hole, we called the pro shop & they stated that they were aware & that this happens every so often. They told us to just keep going since we didn't have many holes left. 7 holes remaining was a pretty significant number for us. After our round, we checked in the pro shop again to let them know what had happened & how terrible our carts were. They acknowledged & that was it. The malfunctioning carts extended our round time and we had let people pass us, one of which stated that they had also had problems with their cart but the staff had brought them a new one. Hopefully they'll get their carts repaired and/or updated soon.
Challenging, but down-to-earth
To be from TX and play in the Coastal range is pure indulgence. Yes, we stay green in TX longer than I was used to in New England, but the variety of vegetation for late November was astonishing! All the course was well-maintained, except for the cart paths many have criticized. If the management insisted you stay on the cart paths, there might be reason to feel abused, but they welcomed travel on the fairways and rough to avoid the cart paths. I would hazard a guess the greens were overseeded perhaps 4 to 6 weeks ago, but the greens were predictable and consistent from one to another, and within the green itself. Fairways were excellent and roughs well-kept. A totally fun experience. Well worth the $55 we paid to play. We were allowed on the course about a half-hour early, kept a fairly quick pace, and the foursome ahead of us invited us to play through when we reached a par-3 tee after two had teed off. They even cheered me when I birdied it! Great experience with good people. I will definitely play this course again, should I ever be in the area.
Beautiful setting.
I don't know what the rack rates are for this course are, for the $24.00 golf now rate it was great. I went out as a twosome the foursome in front of us were very slow (beginning golfers) while they did wave us up on a par 3 as we approached the green they putted out and moved on. We added the twosome behind us and still waited at every tee box until the end of round.
The greens were very fast and fairways were in good conditions for the Bermuda grass used. Very challenging I really enjoyed my round and would play again should another golf now deal fit my schedule.
Fantastic Course
Amazing location, well maintained but very challenging even though most holes play downhill. Would definitely recommend but not for the beginner.
Challenging course and relaxed atmosphere
Enjoyed a beautiful California day at Malibu GC. Course is challenging both on the fairways and greens. Greens are especially tricky - very fast. Played from the whites 2 weeks ago and this time from the blues. Played like 2 different courses.
great course
maint is terrible....cart paths are a mess...carts are worse...course layout is fabulous...greens are great...
Totally enjoyed the day
Hadn't played Malibu in over 20 years and was very impressed with how the course has evolved! What I remember was a decent course but too far to travel to considering an hour drive to get there. Got a great deal for $50 from Golf Now, would really hesitate paying over $75 to play though. Course demands your attention and has great vistas of holes throughout. Lots of uphill shots to greens with downhill carrys to fairways. Challenging! Loved the layout with the only complaints being that they really need to improve the cart paths (lots of potholes) and touch up tee boxes (some were uneven, searching for level ground). Other than that I will return with a $50 or less green fee.
breathtaking scenery and good golf
very challenging course with quick greens and lush fairways and tee boxes. The views were breathtaking and there was multiiple elevated tee boxes to enjoy them from.
This course so much hard for me but...
This course so much hard for me but if you try it, it will be worth.
It was just fantastic!
one place among the course which I lake.
It was just fantastic.
thank u!
cartpath needs some fundings for some improvement
this course is always nice and tough to play.pricey but expect it to be like playing in a private course.if a high handicapper make sure to bring lots of ball coz you"re gonna need them for sure.small and super fast greens awaits for you
Malibu Golf Club - 1:30 pm - Sunday
Malibu golf club had friendly pro shop guys and cart attendants. Also, you can hit free range balls before your round. The experience level of players that were in front of us was, frankly, low. They would hit numerous balls from the same location.
Enjoyable round of Golf- Wouldn't pay for than $50-60
Greens are slick, and tough to read. Not a long course, but will require course management..
There was a lot of dead grass areas on the course..
this golf course great
The course and condition is great I like play more time and I can tell my friend come togather soon
Slow play and Marshall could care less.
Maybe because of the name, people have their noses in the air and the place is not friendly. Other Golfers will just tee off as they please since their is no starter. Two or three groups were stuck behind one slow group up ahead. I called starter and when he showed up after two calls came and said their someone on every hole. Yet pace of play mean their is not open greens and fairways in front of you. And we clearly saw people searching for balls, no taking clubs to play and simple falling behind. And of course you won't be invited to hit up on a par 3 by the group in front of you. Just plan on spending the day waiting. And looking at hills sides and no ocean.
What a fun time
Played on my birthday and loved the gift of golf. Great views and fun holes are found at Malibu. The greens have good breaks and the course plays long. Be careful on hole #4, the first par 5. The tee box can't see much of the hole, it's easy for the group behind to tee off into your group.
Great course!
Not beginner friendly. Course was in great condition although the cart path is a bit rough. Love having the GPS on the cart. Quick pace of play as well.
good layout. poorly maintained.
the postedgreen fee is $100. i played for $40, which was too much money for this course. poorly maintained with no driving range. small practice green. the cart was trashed, likely due to the extremely rough cart parh. i have more golf equipment in my garage than thie pro shop has. would never play this course again...not even for free
