Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Everline Resort & Spa is a delight not only for its great golf, but for its history and scenic qualities, as well. In fact, the Audubon Society has certified the Everline Resort & Spa as a Cooperative Sanctuary due to its commitment toward natural greens-keeping methods.

Nestled in a scenic valley with protected wetlands, the Everline Resort & Spa gives golfers an outstanding day on the links, combining challenging play with awe-inspiring scenery. Forced carries and tight fairways put accuracy at a premium at this course, which holds a mind-boggling slope rating of 146 from the back tees.

For golf travelers looking to make Squaw Valley their home base, the golf action will not disappoint, and the resort has four outstanding restaurants, as well as all the amenities any golf traveler should expect from this legendary golf destination that was a host to the 1960 Summer Olympics.

Difficulty

For someone who can’t hit 200+ yard drives, the course is extremely difficult even from the white tees.

Poor condition

This was only my second time playing the links at Squaw Creek and compared to the first round a couple years ago I’d say the conditions have deteriorated substantially. I know it was a bit of a harsh winter and of course Covid has not helped with keeping employees for course maintenance but there are other courses in the surrounding area that have their tracks dialed! . My wife and I love links golf and the layout of this course has unbelievable views and a ton of character but unfortunately it’s just not worth what they’re charging. I sure hope they can figure it out, would love to play it again with better conditions.

Won’t play again

Course is in poor condition with a lot of tees and fairways poorly cared for and dried out. Also, for older women shorter hitters, the carry’s are too long.

Tahoe’s best kept secret

Get plenty of sleep before venturing out onto this 140 slope links course that offers a plethora of challenges from tee to green. Accuracy is an absolute must as the fairways are tightly guarded by marshlands, deep wooded areas, knee-height grass and aptly situated fairway bunkers. Hold tight as the wind picks up on the back 9 once you enter the flat/exposed marshlands. With the bonus distance you gain from higher altitude conditions, consider leaving your driver in the bag and focus instead on safely landing your ball on the fairway. Course length for most is not an issue, so 220-250yds off the tee will usually afford you with a scoring wedge opportunity regardless if you hit it < 250yds or bomb a 300 yarder. Be sure to take note of the several multi-tiered greens on the course that reward golfers with accurate landing spots, thereby minimizing the wretched 3-putt scenario.

I probably wouldn’t recommend this course for beginner/novice golfers looking for a stress-free round of golf over a few beers. However, if you like a good challenge and want to test your game, look no further than Squaw Links.

Snag one of the “hot deals” on Golfnow for a rare midweek Tahoe golf retreat under $100. Course conditions aren’t as nice as an Edgewood-style golf course, but for the price it’s a solid deal. The driving range and putting green are mostly not worth it, but during the summer months your green fee gains you access to the gated pool inside the resort, which more than makes up for the lack of other golf amenities.

Worst course in Tahoe area

Very disappointed in the condition of the course, I have played there several times before and never has the course been so bad. I played on June 19, 2020 and the would not have played it the next day if offered to do so for free. Absolute waste of money and will not be on our groups list of courses to play when in Tahoe area. Every member of the group felt the same way and most were ready to leave after 9 holes.

I have played at this course many times in the last several years. Each time it continues to proves to be challenging as you must hit the fairways and greens to score well. There is no forgiveness if you get out of the fairways are off the greens. Bring plenty of balls!

First Day Challenges

The course was opening for the season, the winter had left its mark on the course with patchy slow bumpy greens. Hopefully in 30 days it will be better.

Much better

Has played here the day after the course opened back in May and it was in terrible shape. Fast forward to October and the greens are smooth, firm, and fast just the way I like it. Fairways and rough were good. Tee boxes could use some love but overall not to bad. I think covid really set them behind the 8 ball for summer but right now it's in great shape. Not much time before they close for winter so come on out while you can.

Meadow Target Golf

Target golf, need to be accurate off the tee and alot of carry type shots. If you are not accurate you will get punished. Staff was courteous and parking was validated. I would play here again.

Poor condition

Course was really tough and narrow off the tee. Greens were super dry and wood pathways were in really bad shape, played the course 4 years ago and was in much better shape.

Not worth the money

Course was in rough shape and not well maintained. On a Friday. They need to cut the fiarways and rough better. It’s so windy most days. I snowboard there 50+ days a year

I’m not going back.

Fun round of golf

We had a great time today. This is a tough course so if you’re a hacker like us, bring some extra balls. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed it very much.

Good Design, but horribly maintained.

The design was interesting and given a decent level of maintenance the course would be worth playing. Unfortunately, one hole has to eat around / over a ski lift tower. Great views and some nice force carries. "Driving range" has you hitting into a net off of mats (bad mats at that). Putting green is not even worth using. Now when I get to the course, the maintenance is one of the worst 5 maintained courses I have ever played. For context, I have played 215 courses in 5 countries, so I have played a wide range of courses. It was too bad. Recommend getting a new greens keeper.
