Great Shape
This course was in the best shape I have ever seen it. Outside of the funky par 5 that you lay up on with your tee shot, the course was up there.
Perfection
What a great round of golf with my brothers. Perfect conditions at Diablo Grande. I love this hidden gem of a course, the conditions were perfect!
Great course
The course is and has been in great shape. The value is great. I hope that it gets more play. Only a couple holes are almost unplayable for a good score , but it is a great course.
Great deal
Excellent value . Great deal and beautiful course but very difficult.
Beautiful course
Love the layout except hole #14, it requires a long and accurate drive. The condition is pretty good. Greens are in very good shape, rolls true. Usually no marshall nor starter on the course. Unfortunately there was a group of 6 people on the course who acted like they own the course, didn’t care about groups behind them. Hitting multiple balls, too.
Course was in great shape!
Could not beat the price deal on GN app!
Very nice course
It was a sunny but chilly December day, but it was very nice. The course and greens were in excellent condition. These greens are fair and in great shape. The fairways are nice and green and kept in very good condition. Not overbooked, and we played in just over 4 hours. Great course for the price.
I always enjoy Diablo Grande. Not overly fond of the Ranch venue (liked the Legends but it is gone due to the drought) But the course and area is always very well maintained and a pleasure to test our skills. It was exactly what I expected on Tuesday the 28th.
Diablo Grande Golf- Great Work by Greens Crew
DB is probably one of the best values out there these days. It rewards good shots and penalizes bad ones, as any worthwhile course should do. The greens crew has done yeoman's work to repair the damages done by the havelina, and I only saw two traps set on No. 12, the par five (5) - so they are obviously gaining control - really an excellent repair job. Will definitely be returning to enjoy the layout again.
Troon Golf ?
Diablo Grande was in pretty good condition. The tees were maintained, the rough was cut to a reasonable level, you could find your ball. But the bunkers were in very poor condition. The sand was un raked and thin in many spots, I know because I hit about 8 bunkers unfortunately. Compared to other Troon golf courses I have played, this was a bit of a let down. Overall, the course was OK. The staff was very friendly and the grill had nice food.
Pace of Play
I play this course often, and it’s usually a decent pace. But in this particular day it was painfully slow. Group in front of us were playing the blues. They should have been playing the reds. No marshall in sight all round.
The course is challenging and in great condition.
The price of playing this course was excellent. I was greeted with great customer service when I arrived. No problem getting on course and pace of play was enjoyable. I will recommend this course to all my golfing friends.
Overly Accomodated
I don't think that's a word by Tommy in the Pro Shop has consistently been over the top nice and friendly. This trip included me leaving my wallet at home and that was quickly rectified with a phone call and a credit card number. Tommy seemed genuinely interested in helping make sure I was able to play. Because it was Monday (Columbus Day for my school) he gave me options to join the 2 twosomes ahead of me or to play by myself. The reason I come back is #12. I hate #12. I am going to par #12. This time resulted in hitting my drive too well (are you kidding me) and just coming up short in the rough downhill before the gully. Another double bogey, thanks #12. If you want a challenge, at a good price with good conditions, Diablo Grande is worth the drive. Next time I'm taking Tommy out with me to #12 so that I can have him cut the big oak tree (or should I call it ball eater) and I'm going to get that par.
Excellent Course
Now this was an awesome place to come and play some golf. After checking in with the awesome front staff he gave me my cart keys and told me if I wanted to warm up and hit some balls that it was complimentary. Free range balls before a round of golf, that's awesome. The course was in amazing shape the greens were fast Fairways and surrounding very well-manicured. Even the bunkers were Immaculate and believe me I saw quite a few. The refreshment card came around quite often only drawback was I'm laying off the meat so wish they would have some vegetarian alternatives to offer. This place was beautiful and I really mean that it's a little off the beaten path but well worth the drive considering I paid $14 for a day like this cart included. It was a 9:40am tee time. 4 people in the Stanislaus County and surrounding area this is a Hidden Gem I highly recommend it. There is also a Starbucks bonus bonus bonus.
Awesome.
25 bucks, empty course, great course conditions, beautiful surroundings. At some point this place has to catch on. It baffles me that such a spectacular course is often pretty empty...and cheap! If you're in northern CA, this is a must see. Its well worth the drive. Some of the tee boxes need the divots filled and the sand in the bunkers is closer to a light grain dirt. I'm guessing the wind would blow fluffy sand away. Those are my only complaints. 3rd time playing and will be back again.
