9th Hole Mission Photo submitted by canyonman59 on 12/06/2012
Riverwalk - decent track, close to downtown, very slow and busy
First thing, when you play here on a weekend, you have to expect a 5 hour round. We played as a 3 some, behind what seemed to be the slowest 4some on the planet, They were 2 full holes open in front of them after only 7 holes. While they stopped at the halfway hut for food between 9's we jumped out in front of them. They never caught us the rest of the day despite us still waiting on every shot. Pace here it's generally slow due to volume. Enough about pace of play.
Conditions - San Diego has been in a drought lately so the fairways and rough have bare patches. The greens ARE FANTASTIC, even though they had been punched recently, they recovered and rolled true.
Value: Decent. We paid $60 including a cart, so that was a good price, but I'd gladly pay more for little to no waiting. There are no marshalls
Fantastic Condition right now (APR’24)
First timer here. Friendly welcome from staff. Proactive Starter ensured no wasted slots and paired up players efficiently. Course presently in fantastic condition (April 24). Greens impeccable. Bunkers well raked, with plentiful rakes present. Greenkeeper seen repairing pitch marks on greens. Great layout with water featuring on 11/18 holes. A couple of real picturesque shots to be hade. Pace of play great (07:10 tee time). 3hr 35min midweek. Highly recommended and WILL return.
Very nice course except for bunkers
Bunkers continue to be terrible. Can't they be raked to keep them playable?
Great value & unique character
Hit up this course on a last second work trip to San Diego. Course had some rough patches in the fairways, but the greens were pretty decent. I enjoyed the challenge of different club selection choices and strategy, plus holes going in different directions so the wind changes your shot. First round of the year and shot an 82 here. I’ll likely play here again when traveling to San Diego!
Greens rolling pure
Did not expect the greens to be this great. Cant wait to come back
A decent course in San Diego
For a visitor, the course layout is not complicated and a good course to warm up. Green is well-maintained and fast (11) but a little bumpy. Green fee is reasonable compared to others. Overall, this is a course definitely worthy a 4 star.
Groups of 6 and 7 playing together
Conditions were good. Staff were friendly. But there were groups of 6 and 7 people playing ahead of us. How is that allowed? Slowed down the pace of play, made worse by a player in the group in front of us hitting multiple balls.
Overpriced
The course is fine. However, it is absolutely preposterous to charge $110 for this layout, let alone when the greens are sanded. Finding tee times in San Diego is difficult, but I would recommend rolling the dice elsewhere
