Sugar loaf disappointing as course in poor condition
Normally Sugarloaf is fun to play but all the fairways are way overgrown, we lost many golf balls in the fairways, staff very friendly.
The first five holes had 4-5 inch grass in the fairways, and large clumps of grass trimmings from the last time they mowed, which must have been more than a week ago. Take lots of balls!
Sugar loaf always fun to play
Course was very enjoyable to play, pace very nice, staff always very nice.
Tough executive course
Course is a tough executive course and made tougher because the fairways grass is kept longer than normal fairway length so you have to look hard to find your ball and work harder to get the regular distance on your second shot.
Fairways and Greens
My wife and I played this course several times. Love the location and layout, but the fairways are just plain bad. The grass is long, and clumpy, so a perfect tee shot may or may not be found, and if you do find it it's either sitting on the dirt between the clumps (like in a hole 2in deep) or if it is on the grass it is a good inch into the grass.
As for the greens, several have lots of ball marks that makes a true roll on a putt somewhat impossible.
Fun course good pace of play
The course fairways need to be cut more often, greens have defects. But still a fun round. Staff very friendly!
Sugarloaf Golf Course is fun to play
Staff very friendly, course fairways need to be cut on a regular basis, weather was very hot (100), pace of play perfect.
Sugarloaf Golf Course very nice
I always enjoy playing this course, for a small course it can be challenging.
Sugarloaf Golf Course very nice to play
For a Par 3 golf course this course is very nice, staff very friendly, pace of play last 6 holes were slow. But we had a very nice time.
Course Need Attention
Back to Oakmont after all the changes. Played Sugarloaf ( East) Overall the course was in poor shape. T-boxes dry. no grass. Greens with grass missing. Fairways that were lumpy and needed to be cut. Only paid $25.00 otherwise this review would have been harsher.
Love this course - it's manageable. I feel like I can make par - not too much course. Fun layout, lots of shade when it gets hot.
nice small course
'very nice small course, very friendly staff, excellent pace of play.
The course was in good shape and the pace of play was fine. The weather was wonderful.
Short Course: Lovely and empty
Played on a Tuesday., teed off at 11:50. No one in front, no one in back. Beautiful weather, course is in OK shape.
Surrounded by mountains, lots of old oaks.
Harder than it looks.
