Bonaventure Golf Club
About
Bonaventure Golf Club (formerly known as Bonaventure Country Club) is a classic Florida layout with holes routed through strands of mature palms and hardwoods, and around numerous water hazards and expansive bunkers. This course, designed by Joe Lee, is also called the Green Monster. Some people call it the Cascade Course because of the waterfall on the picturesque 160-yard, par-3 third. This signature hole has a waterfall that stretches across the front of the green.

Don’t waste your time and miney
Course was in terrible condition. Some of the greens were unplayable. Sand traps had not been maintained, and it was very difficult understanding where the fairways started and stopped.
The layout would be nice if they maintained it or perhaps even mowed the grass.
Just a terrible experience.
Sad
This course used to be one the nicest places to play in south Florida but it has fallen into such disrepair it really is sad. You can see how unique and well designed the holes are but it is in just terrible condition from tee to green.
The staff was very nice and helpful but that only goes so far when you have sand patches , dead spots and St. Augustine grass on the greens and fairways.
SLOW! Red ant hills EVERYWHERE
Pace of play was a major issue! Before even teeing up we were behind 3 groups and had another behind us even though we were on time… The round took about 6 hours, 8:52 tee time and didn’t get back to the truck until almost 3!
Careful where you walk they have massive red ant hills on every fairway. Managed to only step on one and walk away with a few bites through the round.
Course is challenging but designed well just wish it had better management on the tee times and greens keepers.
Not sure why it's still here!
The course conditions are very bad. What a waste of a great layout golf course.
terrible greens
the greens were pretty much grey. not much else to say
Pace horrible. 10 people on hole 1. Took 3.5 hours to play 9 holes.
Greens were awful half of them barley had grass and were just filled with sand.
Needs some water!
Not nearly as friendly this time out. Tees and fairways are very dry and sandy due to lack of water...kind of understandable since area is in a significant drought condition. This made for some unpredictable lies and rollouts. Some big sandy patches on the greens too. Hopefully course super is saving up some money from greens fees for real grass seed once they get some water. Challenging layout when conditions are better so it is likely I will be back.
Don't waste your time.
There was no grass on the tee boxes, the greens are covered in green sand to cover for missing grass. The fairways and rough are burnt.
Tolerable
Playable but a little TLC is in order watering needs to be consistent and greens need MANICURE.
Not Good!
While I enjoyed the layout and staff were friendly, the greens were completely destroyed. Literally there were multiple mini sand bunkers all over the greens making it impossible to putt. Fairways were soft which was nice, but they were nothing but fine dust. It was like hitting a bunker shot every time with sand flying in your eyes. But the worst out of it all was the pace! We had to quit after 14 holes as it had already taken 4 hrs and 25 mins to play 14. The was a marshal on the course but I’m not sure what for.
