Great variety for a Florida Course.
Bring your game, the challenges are there, but definitely play this course. Five Tee boxes to play from, know your game and pick accordingly. Unless you're a very short hitter, 1st timers should have a GPS to help with hole overviews, define forced carries, lengths and locations of lateral hazards, and green dimensions. Nice practice facility for pre-round warmup, all the staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. If I lived in the area this would be my home course. You won't be looking for lost balls here, so bring enough to cover your game.
COURSE WAS OVER CROWED AND EXTREMELY HARD FOR THE AVERAGE GOLFER
I TOOK FAMILY MEMBERS THERE AND TOLD THEM THTAT THE COURSE WAS GREAT BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE FROM LAST YEAR. WHEN WE ARRIVED, CHECKED IN AND WHERE TOLD THEY WERE RUNNING BEHIND A LITTLE. WE SAT AND THE STARTER STAND FOR AND HOUR AND A HALF PAST OUR TEE TIME WHILE THEY LET PEOPLE WHO BOOKED FOR THREE AND SHOWED WITH SEVEN GO BEFORE US.
NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR MY FAMILY AND THE COURSE OFFERED NO APOLOGY AFTER I SPOKE WITH THEM ABOUT THE SITUATION. I WONT PLAY THERE AGAIN.
some holes are tight
we enjoyed this course & found it to be a good test playing from the white tees.
Good Greens in a vey natural environment, fair for diving good space.
Good greens. Fair test in natural setting.Maintained adequately and able to play fast.
This course was
good...challenging...well groomed...reasonable prices
greens rolled exceptionally well. very well maintained. i hope they stay the same for summer play.
the course was in great shape , I wish I could say the same for my game , but I will return.
Course was challenging
The course has many sand traps that if we had played the course before wouldn't have been as difficult. A lot of position shots are required
Overall a tight track that is a definate test of position golf. With Golfnow.com we got good value for money
Diamond back is a favourite of ours as we travel from Canada each year and we always play it once. This year, as in previous years the course was in good conditions fast greens and good fairways. The only issue we had was with the starter/marshall. This guy was absolutely asleep. He let 5 somes go ahead of us and had problems with "those computers" as for some reason they had him in the pro shop as well as out in the cart as starter then aimlessly wandering the course in his cart. I still recommend the snake as it is a great test of golf and as always Golfnow.com got us GREAT PRICE.
1st time there, picked a bad day
Enjoyed the back 9 more than front, any error on front 9 = lost ball which was frustrating. Greens are pretty rough and need some attention. We were "stuck" behind a foursome who held us up on all 18 holes and would not let us (a twosome!) play through as a result it was a 4 and a half hour round which ruined the experience. Learn some manners people!
Great course.
Loved the course. It is a tough course for those who spray the ball, narrow fairways and very challenging. Very much liked that there are holes that dogleg right and left, not just straight away. The greens were in excellent shape and very fast, you want to stay below the pin. The two holes that stood out for me were 16 and 18. Would definitely go back.
Very interesting layout, target golf
This was truly target golf. The course was fair but difficult. The greens were in good shape with lots of contours, and fairly fast. I didn't score well but enjoyed the round.
Testing course but fabulous challenge
I play a great deal of golf and Diamond back can be my Nemesis as you do need to hit straight balls otherwise you can be in trouble. I would recommend this course to anyone as it is set in a great place with many different challenging holes that trully makes you think before you hit the ball.
The staff are very friendly and overall this makes a great day out for golfers. Definitely a must visit.
Nice ciurse, good value
This is an interesting course, requires precise shots on some holes. Overall very good conditions, greens are good, bunkers well playable. Staff was not seen very much, but was friendly.
Course was challenging and enjoyable
Greens rolled nicely and in good condition. have to be hitting a straight ball here as the odds of finding an errant tee shot are not great. Enjoyable course.
Tight, Tight, Trouble, Trouble
This is a great course located in the back area of Haines City that prides itself with the one of toughest first three holes in golf. The staff tells you with great pride that if you don't lose 4 balls in the first three holes you are a great or lucky golfer - probably both! The course was pristine the day we played with hazards galore right in most golfers power zone. Some of the courses hazards did not come into play because the water levels are low, but still played very tight. A couple of nice open holes for relief but if you are slicing or hooking it will be an expensive day - bring lots of balls!
good layout
Very nice layout. It took an hour and twenty minutes to play the first three holes. Very slow play and never saw a ranger. Range and putting green are a long walk from the clubhouse and first tee, and no carts available to take you there. Years ago, this was one of my favorite tracks in Central Florida. Because of conditioning, not so much now. Greens were very slow, and a lot of areas in the fairway lack grass.
tough course
leave your hooks and slices at home........target golf. our vacation group of 6 players averaged in the low 80's and high 70's at 9 other courses in the orlando area........here no one broke 90. it was not "fun". the course did not have our golfnow reservation(diamondback's fault......golfnow even had the name of the person at the course that accepted the booking) then the starter was rude. when we finished the cart attendant was rude. our group will not go back. however if you want a challenge......this could be it. also i think it would play differently the second time around the course. a little course knowledge would go a long way at diamondback.
Great place
Make sure you play the proper tees for your ability. This is a challenging layout that would be very difficult if your playing from wrong tee. Narrow fairways, well - guarded greens. Tough but fair. Course was in great shape. Pro shop very friendly and helpful starter. Minor complaint - bar/restaurant closes at 6pm so later tee times mean no time in 19th hole
Overall excellent value
Challenging layout, beautiful scenery.
First three holes are very tough, since there's already a "bear trap" call it the "snake pit" Would rather hit the back 9 first.
GREAT COURSE FOR REAL GOLFERS
I played this course on March 12, 2013, course is in decent condition, NOT a resort style course but a true golf course, requires course management and decent shots. Loved it, great value on GOLFNOW
