Westchase Golf Club
About
Designed by Lloyd Clifton, Westchase winds through acres of lakes, conservation areas and forest. It offers manicured greens surrounded by natural wetlands, wooden bridges and bulkheads. With its 9,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, full-service dining room, and fully stocked pro shop, Westchase offers a country club atmosphere along with first-class service. The golf club has established itself as one of Tampa Bay's best upscale golf facilities. The front nine meander through an impressive pine forest. The back nine -- which is demanding on the tee shot -- features lakes, wetlands and cypress. Strategically placed bunkers, more sparkling lakes and stands of cypress, oak, palmetto and pine frame the fairways and greens. Signature Hole No. 3, at 212 yards from the back tee, is all you can handle -- It's a Par 3 all-carry over water from the back tee!

Great course, very wet in places.
This is the fifth time for us to play Westchase. We love everything about it, the setting is just beautiful. The course condition was superb, greens and fairways, but they had 1.5 inches of rain over night, so it was very wet in places. Cart path only was in place, but some of the fairways were so wet, every ball plugged.
Maybe the course should have been shut?
everything is good except
the course is in very good condition, the greens have good speed, but too many ball marks left by golfers. let’s go every body makes an effort.
Best golf value in Tampa area
A beautiful course, well maintained and well managed. Excellent guest service. The course is challenging but does not beat you up. I’m an 11 index and played from the white tees. Thoroughly enjoyed the round.
Nice
Very nice shape favorite course I’ve played on golf now. got an ok deal for 70 but that as much I would pay anyway.
Has promise but isn’t there
This course has pretty good bones, but is very rough around the edges for the money we paid to play there.
They Closed the course due to some rain that motning.
Drove from Ft. Myers to Tampa to play this course and when we arrived we were told the course was closed due to heavy rain that morning.
We wded us playin The Eagles about 5 miles away.
Can I get my reservation fee refunded????
Westchase
Had a 225pm no starter joined up with group behind me being a single. Right off the hop the course looked to be in very poor conditions. Greens were in horrible shape, fairways no better tee box worst of all either no grass or high grass and uneven. Pace of play was extremely slow teed off at 225pm got to 16th hole at 630pm and had to leave due to darkness. Day before I played Waterlefe and had same tee time and was done at 6pm. Cart girl came around once all day. First and last time I play there and to top it off the cost was $70 not worth it.
Course is OK
As an avid golfer I heard good things about this course so I wanted to play. The layout was decent. Challenging in some areas. Not a very long course from the tips. (Think the tees were moved forward a bit). The fairways needed some work, they looked awful. Greens were very firm and rolling fast. For the most part the greens were good which is important. Some bunkers were unplayable but we did get a lot of rain.
Overall they are OVER charging at this course. $70 is too much when I can play courses in better shape for $50. Maybe will try it again someday
Challenging course
Overall experience was good to excellent. Course was tough bring extra balls staff was friendly. 18 holes in just under four hours, so pace was excellent A little pricey but the course was worth it
Strange Layout
Not an easy course to play for the first time. Marsh lands cross many fairways creating forced carries for unknown distances to non visible targets. Most courses like this have course layout yardage books to help navigate. If they did have them they were not visible or offered.
Beautiful course - serene.
If you can keep the ball straight, or do not mind losing some balls, you we love this course. It is in great condition and seems to be set in a wetlands area with many trees and waterfowl. Not a long course but definitely requires placement. Nice staff.
