After being turned over to the city of Tampa for a mere $1, it reopened in 1954 as Rocky Point Golf Course. It is the closest golf course to Tampa International Airport, only a 15-minute drive away. The layout provides a fair challenge water hazards coming into play on 11 holes and sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. Rocky Point Golf Course's lakes are home to an abundance of wildlife and also serves as a bird sanctuary.

This course has the best green in Tampa
Love to play this course can’t wait to play there again.
Spring Training
This is another go to golf course during our March stay. Price is good for this area. Course conditions good for a public course for this area and time of year. We will play here again in preparation for our summer golf in Michigan. Thank you Golf Now/Tee Off for the deals.
Played on a Thursday with a 12:00 tee time. Didn't get off until 12:45 due to member league play. Play was slow as a result.
Interesting and challenging back 9 layout with water hazards. Greens large and in good shape.
Difficult pin locations on day I played. Fairways and traps not well maintained.
Snowbird
This course is a mess. Fairways are full of weeds. The tee boxes need some love and the greens are awful. The previous flag stick holes have dead grass and are elevated. It like playing pinball ! Plan on three putting most greens! I've played this 20+ times in the last two years but this year it's one and done!
I'll spend my money elsewhere until this course gets serious about taking care of it.
Better Courses Available
Course condition was poor, no Marshall to keep pace of play and staff was very rude.
Torture
Fairway and T boxes were in very bad shape, greens one kept well due to all the divot marks. Overall, the course layout is not very well-maintained.
Not much grass
Fairways need Somme help greens ok could be cut lower
Dodge, Duck & Dip
Staff is very friendly and able to assist with any questions you may have. Mark your ball properly, course plays like 18 holes of individual driving ranges. Little to no barriers to separate fairways so balls fly freely from hole to hole. Tee boxes & greens were in good condition, fairways were a bit patchy.
Considering the amount of other courses in the area, I personally do not feel like this is worth the cost or the risk of danger.
