Rocky Point Golf Course
About
Rocky Point Golf Course has one of the most interesting histories of any golf course in Florida. Originally opened in 1911 under the name f the Tampa Automobile Club, it was one of the first courses in the state. It closed in 1942 due to World War II. After being turned over to the city of Tampa for a mere $1, it reopened in 1954 as Rocky Point Golf Course. It is the closest golf course to Tampa International Airport, only a 15-minute drive away. The layout provides a fair challenge water hazards coming into play on 11 holes and sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. Rocky Point Golf Course's lakes are home to an abundance of wildlife and also serves as a bird sanctuary.

Rocky point home course Rocks !
Always pleased with rocky point
Used Golf now but use the member service card as well !
Staff great always get me out when i need to
always impressed with the greens probable lack of rain looked like some repair on some greens. But overall very good
Rocky Point
Course was in better shape than I was expecting. The greens were in great shape and very receptive. There was also a lot of maintenance going on in the background, so I would think that will show up in the winter season that is starting. I was happy to have picked this course to play this week.
Average course
Slow play made this un enjoyable but I would give it another go
Didn’t see the whole course.
Staff was friendly, but pace of play was atrocious. I only played 13 holes in 4 hours and 20 minutes. Had to leave. Did not have time 6-7 hours to play a round. Upset I wasted the money. There were always 3-4 groups on every hole from differnt holes and who knows where they were going. It was a war zone. You get what you pay for for course quality and upkeep, just overbooked with poor pace management.
Good value!
Arrived as a single and went off as one. The pace of play was superb. Never waited between shots or holes. Course In good condition. Greens were very soft in the morning and even my chip shots were leaving ball marks. Not a game changer however. Good value for the money! I’d come back
Solid course. Challenging but fair
This is a great course with a different view than your typical Florida course. Would recommend a round here.
First time playing here, took a shot and all good
Course was nice. Good Calloway rentals but a bit pricey $50 on a monday.
All in all a real nice time.
Just a perfect day all around greens were excellent pace of play was a golfer's delight no one in front and no one behind us for the entire 18 holes We Owned the course
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
The absolute worst. You are basically paying $60 to wait. God awful pace of play every single time i go. They are trying to profit from so many tee times and there are always 2-4 carts waiting at holes. Never again.
Better condition today.
I have played here dozens of times, the course was in the best condition that I have seen it in for a while. I still think that the greens fee is too high for the course.
Worst Course ever
Suppose to tee off at 740 and never teed off until 752. We were a 2 and a third was added. The 4 guys that went ahead of us, apparently didn't know what pace of paly was or etiquette about letting faster players play through. Took them about 20 minutes to play the first hole. After we teed off the group behind us hit unto us , we were about 90 yards in from the pin. No apology or anything from them. it took about 20 minutes per hole to play. The course was the worst shape i have ever seen. We left after 6 holes. I will never play there ever again.
Save your money!
$60 bucks?
The course wasnt worth $30
Driving range was in awful condition, course even worse
Tee'd off at 750 and didnt see cart girl til 18th hole on 85 degree day
Fairways- good luck finding real grass to hit out of
Sand craps had so little sand I putted out of the 2 I was in
1 and only time ill play this course
Good enough condition for fun golf
If you’re shooting 80 and above this course is in good enough condition to play fun golf and the greens are improving. Definitely not a perfect course but layout is fun and inexpensive!
