Course was in decent shape, other than being really hard in the fairways, which is usual for around this area. Needs to be watered on a more regular basis is my guess. Pace of play was pretty slow but it was one of the few perfect weather days we get here so it was understandable having so many ppl on the course.
Only way to better that is manage tee times a little further apart, but it really wasn’t bad because I wasn’t in a hurry anyways.
Worth the Hot Deal
I was stuck in Baton Rouge for a day and just wanted to find a place quick to play around. I found this course on a HD so I jumped on it. Overall it was fine. The greens were slow and very inconsistent. The ground all over the course was rock-hard and made the short game a nightmare! The good news was I got a ton of roll-out off the tee. The rough was like concrete with fur. The grad was thick and dry and the surface was so hard the the club bounced on every shot. The fairways were not much better very hard and difficult to achieve good contact. Again, for a HD it was well worth it and I played with a couple guys who were regulars and they said it was not usually like this. So, all things considered I would come back again. Some very well placed hazards and some really pretty holes made it a challenging but enjoyable round. The final hole I got suckered in to trying to take it over the water… very tough and I ticking shot… I lost more than one ball on 18!
Pretty good shape
The course is in pretty good shape but the greens were a bit bumpy.
Nice course
We went right after a rain and not many people playing the course. Course drains well and enjoyed our round.
Only negative, need yardage to be marked better.
Wet but drained well overall.
First time playing the course and really enjoy our round. Although it was cart path only due to all the rain we have had, course was well drained. Looks like a lot of renovations going on throughout the coarse but didn't interfere with our round. Looking forward to playing this course again.
Santa Maria
Everything I was great…it had just rained a lot in the last few days and the course held a lot of water
Great shape
Although the greens were aerated and sanded, the course is in great shape.
