It was 20 year since playing this place.. it will be another 20 years.
Well,
For some reason I had high hopes. I was let down. The course is a bit burned out. Fairways are just ok and are inconsistent, and rough is non existent in some areas and then there are spots where you won’t find your ball. Tees were shaggy and not maintained. Greens were decent. Some of the hole design on the back nine are a bit old school and odd. I think it’s 13 or 14 with this crazy hook shot off the tee with a mid or long iron, only to leave you with a long iron in. Couple of cool holes as well. But all in all. For the price, for me, in my opinion, I will play elsewhere.
Very slow pace of play
To whom it may concern. Tee it forward. Stop hacking it from the blue tees if you can’t even hit a soccer ball with your driver. Tee it forward. Leave your ego at home. You’re not getting paid to play. You’re paying money to play and to have fun, and not torture yourself and the groups behind you with a 5+ hour round. Tee it forward. You’re not in a tournament. Stop trying to reach a par 5 in 2 from 280 out. Tee it forward.
Nice course slow golfers
No surprise to any local Los Angeles golfer; no marshal and everyone taking their sweet time. 5 hour round, behind a 3 some taking turns like they are in the masters, and a fun group ahead of them of with a family including their kids. No hate to either group, they paid to have fun too, but a little help from the shop or marshal would go a long way. Plus, don’t bother having a # to call in food at the turn if you’re not going to start “cooking” until you get in the shop.
3.5/5 for me
Greens were being sodded and tee boxes were not in good condition as well as the driving range being closed but the price was not discounted at all.
Needs attention
Nice layout, but they've let the course get away from them. Extensive crabgrass and the greens should be rolled and mowed.. Very slow speed on the greens.
Greens shaggy, course soaked
The fairways were over-watered and were so moist that with any type of downward strike created huge divots the size of Texas. Way too wet. They should use some of the extra water on the tee boxes as the tee boxes were shredded and clearly not being looked after, as most of them are uneven with humps all over. The greens were terrible. So shaggy thick like old school carpet, there was no roll. What happened?? They were always nice and quick. The greens were also too soft and there were minefields of ballmarks. Not puttable, not fun. The best thing were the bunkers, they were in good shape, as long as you found areas where people had raked them!!! For the price it’s a bit of a rip off compared to City courses. I don’t recommend playing it right now, compared to how it was a couple months ago.
