High Quality Golf
This course had tough holes but it boosts up your golf game. Very nice staff. The golf carts are the BMWs of the cart paths. The people of the neighborhoods like to watch us as we layed up onto the greens.
Reasonably difficult; must be a shot maker
Fairly difficult course with lots of potential trouble areas to avoid. Course management is critical; must decide if going for it or laying up is the better option on a number of holes. Played after several days of rain and found that the course drained extremely well. Five sets of tees allows every level of golfer to enjoy the course.
great experience
Course is in great shape even after all the rain this last week. Greens rolled good and were fast .
This course is always well maintained and pace of play is never an issue.
The Island has always been one of my favorite places to play in the Baton Rouge area. It is well maintained and the course is never too crowded. Price is somewhat steep (~$50), but with few people on the course, you can hit more shots (extra practice) on each hole.
The Island
Great value at the $35 twilight rate. The greens are some of the best in the Baton Rouge area and run fast.
The nicest greens in Baton Rouge Area
I have been to the island countless times in the past few years and can say it is among the very best in the Baton Rouge area. The drive is kind of far, but not as bad as the Bluffs and Copper Mill. After 3 or so the rate goes down to 35$ which is a steal for this course. Greens are always in great condition and the course is very challenging. My favorite course besides Santa Maria.
This course is overpriced
Although a well layedout course with several amenities it is in poor condition for the area. The course (fairways and greens) appear and play like many of the courses in Texas that have suffered nearly 3 years of drought
Another great Baton Rouge area course
This is a great golf course located just outside the Baton Rouge area across the Mississippi River. It is a challenging course but great for all levels. The course is usually in good shape. My one problem is the price is just a little higher than I would like to spend on a round of golf at a public course. Definitely worth checking out though.
