Excellent Course..
Our foursome had a great time playing just after noon in some good LA weather. The biggest issue was that gnats were everywhere and made this one of the most miserable rounds ever. Will definitely be going back once the gnats are gone.
Great course
Great course, First time playing it in about 5 years. Good price for twilight times. Greens played pretty fast. Bring a few extra balls if you're like me and tend to hit water. Great driving range with unlimited balls. Overall, probably the nicest course for the money in the Baton Rouge area.
First time here, will be back
The greens are in good shape with the exception of a few spots. For this region, it's above average greens. I got a great deal on Golfnow and I would love to play it again. Great course, and great deal.
Challenging course in pristine condition
This course is well maintained. It is challenging and a blast. Carts are nice with gps. About to book another tee time now.
Best value for a course in the area!
I have played this course at various times throughout the years but now more than in the past this course is the best "bang for your buck". The course is in fantastic shape, the best in years. The pace of play is excellent and staff cannot be friendlier! If you get past the little extra drive over some other local courses you will be rewarded. Oh, and by the way, they have one of the best teaching pros (Chris Burkstaller)of any course in the area.
Tough course for beginners. Fantastic course in general
I would have to say is this being only my fifth round of golf in my life that this course was quite difficult. The greens and fairways were in fantastic condition until of course it started down pouring for an hour. But not 10 minutes after except raining everything and drained perfectly. This course is extremely well-maintained and for the golf now price, hot deal for only 20 bucks it was well worth the trip outside of Baton Rouge ... I will most definitely be back to this course after some rounds of practice highly recommended
A yes
Fun course. Challenging layout, with good selection of tee boxes. Course is kept in very good condition for the Baton Rouge area.
Great course!!!
This was my first time playing this course and I really enjoyed the challenges this course has. It was definitely worth the time and mone . I'll surely be back soon to try and lower my score.
Louisiana Golf in January
My wife and I enjoyed playing this links style course while on our way through Louisiana. We were lucky to have great weather and the course was in excellent condition for late January. With plenty of water hazards and well placed bunkers it provided all the challenge you would want. The well stocked pro shop and friendly staff were both very nice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Baton Rouge area.
Best Draining course in the area
Played when all other area courses would have been extremely sloppy and the fairways and greens were perfect. Very little evidence of the previous heavy rains. A good course in general, but a gem when most places are too wet to play.
Great course if your in the Baton Rouge Area
I've played the Island several times and it was just as enjoyable this time as in the past. The greens are always fast! The wind was a major problem at 13 mph unless you're down wind. the course requires shot making.
Not worth the regular price
Glad I got a deal on golf now for 25 dollars. I was not impressed. Greens and facilities are good but the fairways were in terrible shape. Maybe it's a totally different course during the summer but I will not come back for 60 dollars anytime of the year.
What a great golf course!
Greens and fairways are perfect. Great range, and practice facility. Folks here could not be nicer!
Love the layout of the course. There is plenty of trouble around to keep you on your toes.
I rode, but it would be easily walkable.
Great layout
Watch out for hole 2, a tight par 5. Great layout fun challenging course. Most holes offered a bunker to challenge off the tee. A few really scenic holes. Staff was great.
Challenging course, but still fun
This course has some very narrow fairways bordered by water, OB, or both. Has several 400+ par 4s. However, it offers some shotmaking opportunities and is more playable than it initially seems.
The Island is just tough enough
I've played at the The Island several times and each time the course got the better of me. The course was in excellent shape, fairways were well kept, the rough was cut down some so it made it a little easier to find your ball if you didn't hit the fairway. I like this course because it's tough, but not so tough that you can't score on it if you play it smart. I'd definitely recommend it to friends.
Match play
My 15 yr old son and I went and played match play. Excellent conditions and memorable round. Highly recommended
An Awesome Day!!
The course was in really good condition and the greens were rolling good and true. The range is really nice and you could hit all the practice balls you want.
Great course
I play a lot of courses around state and this one is in the top tier challenging from the tips or for any handicap
This course a great value excellent practice facility will enjoy it again
