greens in awful shape
The fairways and tee boxes were in good shape for this time of year (middle March), but the greens were in awful shape. We got a discounted rate so we didn't feel too bad. Really glad we didn't pay full fare.
Played a fast 18 with one other player on the last day of winter. Tee boxes and fairways in excellent condition. Greens still dormant and very fast, but fair for their present condition.
Poor Condition/Don’t Bother
Glad I had a $19 Golf Now deal, or I would have felt severely scammed at the more commonly charged rates of $35-$70! All of the greens are in terrible condition, the fairways have a lot of thin spots, and you can forget about it if you end up on the outer edges of the fairway where you’ll only find bald soil, rocks, sticks and leaves. This place does not resemble a flagship course in any way, Mo Willy and Roy Kyzer are both better options for your money. The young lady in the restaurant/bar had nothing to offer personality wise either, and when I mentioned my frustration wth the condition of the greens to the fellow in the pro shop he turned his back to me without making a comment. Beautiful facilities and grounds won’t make up for any of the many other shortcomings Grayrock is suffering!
Single who ran into 5 FIVESOMES
It was great, until the started told me I was up next. He told me there was a 4-some two holes ahead, well that was a 5 some, followed by another, followed by 3 more. Ridiculous!
Had a tee time for 11:50, course apparently had a tournament the same day and we didn’t actually tee off until around 12:50. Did not get any notification or heads up for a late start whatsoever. Course was in decent shape yet on many holes the greens had elevated patches of grass.
Good Mid-winter Round
Played a 4 hour round in a friendly foursome. Course was in good shape for winter play. Good value for the money this time of year. Will do it again.
Great Course, Highly Recommend!
This was the first time I had played the course and it was a blast, course is in great shape. Very cool atmosphere at the property and clubhouse/surrounding area is beautiful!
Good deal on golf now hot deals
The fairways and greens need to grow out a little more. The layout is very good. Good practice area. Would play again once the fairways grow in.
I enjoyed playing this course but it wasn’t in the greatest condition in my opinion. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating however and I would totally recommend it to a friend to play. I would like to see nicer fairways is m biggest complaint.
The woman in the pro shop was slow. The ladies behind the bar were cute, but they paid more attention to their phone than the customers
Course is in good conditions considering winter. Greens were fast bunkers good and staff was friendly played in about 3 1/2 hours no one in front of us. Highly recommend
Good Winter Round
70 degrees, sunshine, no wind, tees and greens in great winter condition, good foursome; nuff said. Let’s do it again.
3:30 round on a great track
Greens were brutally fast with some diabolical pin placements. Don’t be above the hole or short-sided on chip shots.
Greens held full shots well if struck properly.
Course played pretty short from the blue tees with ample roll out on fairways.
Gorgeous day for golf with an awesome pace of play.
I’ll be back. The City of Austin should be proud to have this great course in its lineup.
