#9 green, right in front of the clubhouse was by far the best conditioned of the day! Photo submitted by u547358672 on 03/15/2023

Greens were in awful shape. A few greens were only 20% turf. Turf maintenance in fairways was also very poor.
Winter freeze renovation needed
Wait until 2024 to play. Fairways need sand. Bermuda is thin with clay right below. Tee boxes are heavily crowned and need flattening. Greens are a mess. Generally looks like more time and money needs to be invested to make this a really wonderful course. Highly recommend, but not until they make the repairs.
Erickson
The greens were not playable, they were basically dirt… I would not have booked this course had I known..
sad greens
Greens where crap. Whole sections of most of the greens had no grass just green paint. Most fairways were very very thin. and most tee boxes were iffy at best.
sad greens
Almost all the greens are crap. Almost all the greens were missing grass and were painted. Sad state of the greens. I won't be going back in the next 3 to 6 months until they address the greens.Tee boxes were ok . Some boxes were more sand than grass. Some tee boxes need to be rebuilt due to the unevenness. Many fairways were crap too no or little grass.
Sad to see…, no value other than range balls and the layout
This is supposed to be Austin’s flagship municipal course? They still charge a premium to play here as if, yet between Grey Rock, Lions, Morris Williams, Jimmy Clay and Roy Kizer - Grey Rock is hands down in the worse condition of all! The fairways are dried up and in dire need of attention, but the greens are horrendous with minimal to no grass at all left on the majority of them. Sure, the course layout is good, but there is nothing fare or fun about hitting off of dirt and rock or putting on uneven and unpredictable surfaces..
We played a GolfNow Hot Deal for $27.50 and still felt completely ripped-off!
Very slow
This course is built on a swamp, it needs a bit of work, pace of play was an issue.
Course Badly Damaged by Ice Storm
Grey Rock is typically a nice course to play. However, in this round we were advised upon arrival that only 9 holes were open for play. The greens were in poor condition and very bumpy.
