Reston National consistently delivers
Great round at Reston National. Course in great shape, greens a little slow but consistent. Very friendly. A little pricey....
Nice layout - conditions so so
Nice layout, fairways in solid shape and greens are ok (people need to repair their ball marks!!!). Traps are unplayable on many holes. Friggin pedestrians kept walking aimlessly in front of tee boxes clueless…
Good course
Pace of play was great and the course is in great shape. The price was pretty high at 89. Maybe that's why pace is good? The greens were in good shape, but there's not a flat putt on the whole course! Everything is uphill, downhill, or breaking left or right. I don't really mind this, but it felt like the speeds aren't consistent from green to green. Everyone in the group noticed this and commented on it. The rough was pretty brutal. Finding fairways is a must to play well here. There's also a lot of undulation from hole to hole. Even in the fairways, you're faced with a lot of uphill, downhill lies, ball below or above your feet. It was definitely challenging. I'm honestly conflicted on whether I'd come back for not. But because of the staff and the condition of the course, I'd probably recommend it.
Nice from a distance
Course was just in ok condition. Fairways were full of weeds, Tees hadn't been changed and were just terrible and no one seems to know how fix ball marks on the greens. I fixed at least 4-5 on ever green.
Great shape!
Course was in really good shape from tees to greens. Clubhouse being renovated to that was a bit disappointing otherwise a good day.
Poor
The course condition has always been ok but the location has been great for me.since the new owners have taken over, it seems that they are trying very hard to discourage golfers to play there. $89 for tee time at 6PM. No thank you.
Gone downhill
Not sure what’s up with this place but for $89 a round this is the worst value in northern Virginia. I would expect for that price you’d be able to play out of the bunkers. Nope! Almost every single bunker on the course is washed out and full of nothing but rocks. Drain pipes exposed underneath. The fairways were okay but had some spots that were torn up and unplayable. Overall twin lakes (and even Herndon) is in much better shape for far less $$. If you want to pay $89 go to Raspberry Falls or go play Westfields. (It also took 5 hours to play 18 holes as the group in front was painfully slow) great course layout but they need to sink some money into it quickly
Course Has Potential
The course has potential, but definitely needs some work. The tee boxes and fairways were fine, but the greens could use some work. There isn’t a first cut, so you’re either on the fairway or in the rough. The course seems pretty open but plays narrow.
The cart paths definitely need substantial work.
New management took off twilight hour
You can play way better courses for way less. Overpriced
Challenging but Fun
Challenging course with plenty of holes to play driver on. Course maintenance was decent, but bunkers were poorly maintained across the board. Pace of play was very slow, but that’s not because of the course itself. Will play again.
