Desert Canyon Golf Club
About
Nestled within Fountain Hills, the course at the Desert Canyon Golf Club offers a championship course with a variety of elevation changes with views canyon and mountain views. It is a desert-style course with some elevated tees and open fairways that play tight with a few doglegs. Water bunkers come into play on a few holes as well as numerous well-positioned sand bunkers. From nearly every hole on the golf course, views of the signature fountain in Fountain Hills, which is the world's tallest fountain at 550 feet, can be seen.

Best value in Fountain Hills
Course is challenging and in very good condition , staff is friendly and very helpful. Views are simply breathtaking from some holes , look forward to the next time I play it. Tom
Fun, scenic course
My wife and I play Desert Canyon weekly while in AZ for the winter and it’s one of our favorite PHX area courses. Friendly staff (starters, Marshall’s,, cart guys, restaurant servers) and a very scenic layout. They keep the course in really nice condition and they always have someone on the course monitoring pace of play. We play in the early afternoon and almost every one of our rounds this year have been in 4 hours with probably our longest being 4:15. Like all AZ courses the prices have gone up, but if you buy their player card and take advantage of their loyalty program it’s very reasonably priced for Phoenix. Restaurant is also a good place for an after round drink or meal with great views from their patio
Nope
Not worth the money you pay. Greens are super slow. Definitely not my first choice of courses in the Phoenix Scottsdale area for sure.
Great Layout
Not the longest course but the layout demands that you think out each shot before hitting it. great views, as well. Very enjoyable to play.
Cement Greens
There’s a lot I could say about the course, but the most disappointing was the state of the greens; it was like landing a ball on an Astro-turfed board. I don’t believe this course was worth what I payed to play it; if you can get on for $130 it’s a good course to golf, for what they’re charging go somewhere else.
Could be better
After checking in at $200+, they hand you a token for an unnecessarily small bucket of range balls. The course conditions are fine, but the layout is in terrain that may have been too rugged for placement of a golf course. And the developer placed the homes way to close to the course as many holes transition from fairway, to cart path, to back yard in a matter of a few feet.
Nice course. Horrible golf carts
I enjoyed the layout of this course. I had an early AM tee time and had the course all to my self. The course is in good shape. The only issue I had was that the gps golf carts frequently stopped the cart from working while on the cart paths. I spent 10-15 minutes of my round dealing with the obstinate cart. If it was a busy day this would have been infuriating. I let the golf shop and bag employees know about this issue.
Turf great
Greens and turf great, fast greens great day. Hole locations too close to collars
Fun Course
Course was in excellent condition pace of play was good. Nice to see rangers driving around checking on groups. All good except golf in Arizona is overpriced. Would highly recommend this course though!
Very nice course
The course was nice and well maintained. Just over 6400 from back tees, so if you're a decent player would recommend the tips. Value was ok, but still a bit pricey for my liking. Well worth playing at least one time. Would play it more if the price was a bit better.
Was shaved down for winter seeding
There was really no grass as everything was shaved down to the dirt. I understand why, but @message while booking would have had us choose a different course.
Beautiful
This was our number one course of our trip. The layout of this course was excellent and the views were amazing. We throughly enjoyed our round and everyone was so friendly and outgoing. The Gentleman who was the starter was outstanding.
Great golf day!
Had an awesome time from beginning to end. I think if you play this course frequently you would get to know where your ball should be hit and learn the greens.
