Legend at Arrowhead, The
About
Located in the west valley, the Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay-designed golf course with a traditional layout. The challenging course has six lakes creating water hazards on many of the holes and several doglegs. The difficult to read greens are undulating and in excellent condition. Each hole, except for one, has bunkering on the fairways or protecting the greens. Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club's signature hole is the par-4, 426-yard fifth hole. It calls for a shot off an elevated tee with water running along the right side of the fairway as well as next to the green.

Pace of play is not managed properly.
Ridiculous, 3 hrs to play 10 holes. Not a marshal in sight. Stopped playing Stone Creek for same reason. Believe the same management runs both courses.. two singles joined us at the start of the game and nobody lasted past past 13 th hole.
Inquired about the marshal and was told they went home at 3:30. Well our tee time was noonish and we never saw a marshal once.
Reviews had me guessing
Myself and my 13 year old son played this. I’ve been playing down here for about 5 years on golf trips. I read several reviews that were negative but overall, this course was a ton of fun. Grass was green and the layout was very fun. Every hole was significantly different. Greens were hard and fast but that’s what I’d expect down here. My son loved it. He got the feel of Arizona golf and it was open enough for him to enjoy it as he doesn’t hit every shot perfectly.
Greens were very challenging and difficult to score on
Poor course mangement
The people who manage this course should be embarrassed at their efforts in trying to make this course a great place to play. The course itself was in good condition but staff management needs a lesson on customer engagement. Unless you ask at check in, no information is provided on acquiring range balls, and the practice range runs along the first fairway. There is no course book, and the yardage markers on the course, what few they have, are hidden and obscure. All bathrooms are locked and no combination provided unless you ask at the turn. Probably why the bushes are so green on the course. After you tee off on #1, you spend the first 10 minutes sorting through the range balls members slice or shank from the range to #1 fairway. You are now 5 minutes into your first shot. Then, the starters let people out ahead of their scheduled tee time, and! You have singles and couples hitting into a foursome. One couple almost got hit from a tee shot. The geese problem is substantial, and we watched one guest get attacked by a pair of geese. Save your money, this is a pathetic excuse for a golf club, and there are way too many other option in the Phoenix area rather than this train wreck they call a golf club.
Would play again
Corse is well maintained. Greens were very hard and fast but rolled true. Really need to study your putt. Loys of subtle undulations. Fairways were very good as were the bunkers. The bar area was great as well as the staff. Only complaint, The tee boxes are not level at all. Uphill, downhill, side hill. Very hard to find a flat teeing spot.
Poor Experience
We waited 1 hour after our scheduled tee time before going off because there weren’t carts…ridiculous. We were unable to finish our round because it got dark.
Nice course but slow pace
We enjoyed the course but the pace was slow, waiting on most holes. They had no carts ready for our time so we teed off about 15-20 minutes late, never had that happen before. Some long green to tee rides, I doubt anyone tries to walk this. Had the group behind hit past us on one hole (about 20 yards), and no Fore, apology or anything. I'm sure that they were frustrated with the pace, but no apology or warning was pathetic.
Fun
Very fun course. In great shape. Starter is a hoot.
Course Management
Starter was a kick. Cart guys need to step up their game. Great course for the value.
