It took me almost 2,5 hours for the first nine.A lot of personnel before you start but no Marshall on the course.
GOOD COURSE FOR THE PRICE
It is an enjoyable course. Pace of play was good and the course is in decent condition. Some dry spots on the fairways but overall good summer conditions. Staff very friendly.
Greens were awful
The greens were in terrible shape. The greens were punched and sanded, the monday before we played on saturday and probably were not mowed to let them grow back out. I have 100 courses i can choose from. They didnt mention the shape of the greens on golfnow or on their webpage. This course has had problems with their greens for several years. They don't seem to care, they minimize the problem and dont take responsibility for the conditions of their course. Their members are rude and feel entitled to jump a head of their tee times and will not let faster playing singles and twosomes play through.
Course in great shape
Played at 11:30am. Fairways and greens great. Woman in snack bar was a bit sour to us asking for a bag of ice.
good day on the course
Playing early is great during the summer months. This course is showing some signs of the hot dry conditions but greens were in great shape.
This course is a hidden gem out near the mountains in Gold Canyon. My brother and I enjoyed the scenery of some of the holes while also enjoying the course layout and some of the challenges we had to face on certain holes on how to play the hole. We had a great time and will be back again soon.
Staff very friendly and accommodating, course in good shape for the time of year. Greens keeping staff not ready for the faster pace of play this time of year. They were still prepping the greens on many of the back nine holes.
fairways and greens in great shape for the start of the hot summer. Bunkers had sand. ..enough obstacles to make it interesting.Price is right!
The move in switching front and back nines makes a tough front nine but allows early morning without sun blocking your vision. This course is challenging and offers beautiful views, makes for a fun round of golf.
Great golf course
I was the only one playing. I didnt see anyone until i got to the 18th. The whole round took me only 2 and a half hours which was great.
Great Summer AZ Value
We get out early - sometimes we need a jacket at the start. By the time we leave, which is about 3 hours, it's hinting at hot at this time of year. This course is in great shape. Greens fees reasonable, fairways nicely cut, greens fast but not ridiculous. The rough is mostly desert or short, not watered grass. (ez) You are still in trouble on some greens if you hit above the hole and have to putt downhill, but most greens are fairly flat. We were going to eat at the grill as we heard it was good, but it was jammed with people, so apparently they were right. I don't know about winter golf at this course as I let the snowbirds take over. Now and through the summer, though, it's worth the drive.
Great day in a good place
Our foursome played at 11:37 and I guess because of the heat, we were nearly alone out there. Tees, fairways and greens were in great shape. Greens not as fast as some but nothing to complain about. Richard (carts and starting) is a gem, hang onto that guy. Avoid the bunkers, the only issues on this fine day are the traps, they badly need fresh sand. There was drinking water on the course.
Course is in great shape and great price. Certainly going to play it again this week.
Superstition Mountains As A Backdrop--What Else Do You Need?
I had an interest in trying this course so I kept an eye out for a hot deal to justify the extra distance I'd be traveling. The course did not disappoint. The course layout was interesting enough, but the real draw is the impressive views of the Superstition Mountains in the background. You get a real sense of how massive they are as you move in their shadow from hole to hole. The one drawback was the condition of the fairway grass. I think this had more to do with the grass being in transition from winter to summer grass, but it was a bit iffy in spots. The greens were all in good shape, though running a bit slow. It took me a while to adjust from a recent round played on very fast greens. All in all, it was a nice course and plan to return.
Mountain Brook was in great shape. It is a moderate course with open fairways and minimal sand and water. The greens were also in good condition. They were a little tricky to read but may be my skill level. Overall if you are an average golfer this is a great course for your money.
