Mountain Brook Golf Club
Nestled at the base of the Superstition Mountains, Mountainbrook Golf Club offers a player-friendly course with beautiful views of mountains and desert hills. Given its location, the golf course is mostly flat, making it a nice walk. The layout combines that of a desert course and a mountain course for an interesting variety of holes and challenges. The fairways are relatively wide and some are lined with trees and the fairly large greens are sloped and fast. Sand bunkers are situated throughout the course and two lakes create water hazards that come into play on the back nine. Mountainbrook Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 16th, which has a dogleg left fairway and a green that is well guarded by bunkers and mounding.

Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses
Fast greens. Well maintained. Some bunkers could use some sand but overall very nice short course.
Beautiful setting, Gorgeous semi desert layout
This desert style course is nestled in the foothills of the Superstition Mountain area and enjoys spectacular views and amenities off course with a wonderful restaurant and staff. The course is very straight forward with no "trick" holes and fabulous greens and all around maintenance WITH THE EXCEPTION of the tee boxes. This course is now 25 years old and at no time have these tee boxes been re leveled and re sodded and they are in VERY sad shape. This of course causes many problems for the Patron as shots often fly well off course and into the desert areas. New Owners should correct this deficiency and redo the bunkers to bring this facility to into top shape. Just sayin........
Excellent course, staff, price
One of my favorite courses. Always in good condition. Challenging but not US open standard. The club house staff as well as the starters are great. Plenty of golf courses nearby, but MB is always a great choice.
It started with a warm reception from the starter Jeff and the friendliness from the remainder of the staff continued on for our entire day. Nice course tucked inside a small community with wonderful mountain views. The whole course was in great shape with the greens running fast but true.
Incredible setting and a desert style layout....Beautiful
The course is set with the backdrop of the Superstition Mountains and has broad fairways and subtle greens. Fabulously maintained always and very playable with great amenities, and personnel.as well. That said...
.New Ownership Very Much needs to re level and re sod the TEE BOXES as they are a huge detriment to Pace of Play and to keeping tee shot out of the desert areas. Balance is a most important part of a golf swing and these boxes are totally opposed to maintenance of that aspect, Please respond !! This is costing ownership big bucks and customer satisfaction.
Not bad if you get a discount
Tees and greens are very nice and in good condition. Fairways seemed to be, in vast areas, overtaken by infiltrating broad leaf weed of some sort that I’m unable to identify. The result is unpredictable ball flight and hosel snag. Almost every fairway tightly lined with residences so accuracy is critical. Clubhouse facilities were Ok, restrooms on course - not so much. Staff were very friendly, pace of play was great for the most part. Beautiful views of mountains. Nice practice facility although range tee box was pretty beat up on this occasion. Overall it’s a decent and challenging course.
The layout and the mountain scenery is among the best in the Phoenix area. The course was in good shape and we did not have any pace of play issues. It was a very fun day.
Has come a long way
Played today and found the course to be much improved. The tees and greens were actually very nice and the fairways are getting there. The holes have some great views even though the layout is fairly straightforward.
Staff is outstanding and we found it to be a very pleasant surprise. Thanks to the Thompson group for making these great imporovements
First time playing this course. Tee boxes and fairways were in outstanding condition.Greens were also in great condition although very fast compared to what we are used to back in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. For a course in this good of condition, I was surprised that the sand traps had less that average sand/gravel in them. Our only compliant.
Great afternoon of golf
My folks live at Mountainbrook Village so I enjoy playing whenever I visit. I played as a single and was paired up with a couple of Wisconsin snowbirds who regularly drive over from Fountain Hills to play what they call "their favorite course," Great guys and a terrific afternoon of golf, which is my typical experience here.Plenty of water but also room to play around it if you're smart. The fairways rolled out exceptionally well - I don't usually hit a 6 iron 200 yards!
The pace of play was good and we got the round in at exactly the four hour mark; there was plenty of time to enjoy a cocktail and the sunset. The Grille smelled fantastic, but I had to get home for dinner.
Lots of fun and a great value ,
