Nestled at the base of the Superstition Mountains, Mountainbrook Golf Club offers a player-friendly course with beautiful views of mountains and desert hills. Given its location, the golf course is mostly flat, making it a nice walk. The layout combines that of a desert course and a mountain course for an interesting variety of holes and challenges. The fairways are relatively wide and some are lined with trees and the fairly large greens are sloped and fast. Sand bunkers are situated throughout the course and two lakes create water hazards that come into play on the back nine. Mountainbrook Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 16th, which has a dogleg left fairway and a green that is well guarded by bunkers and mounding.

Surprisingly disappointing

An avid golfer who is native to Arizona that’s played courses all over the valley. I try to find the best deals for golf in Arizona and mountain brook has been reasonable in the past. Arizona is starting to heat up and we had a few days of nicer weather so mountain brook had some slightly higher prices(reasonable). I chose the cheapest being $56(pre tax) and was happy to pay that since no tee times were booked around the time I was going and it was nice out. I’ve played mountain brook at least 10-15 times before and what I can say is pace of play can get slow, course can get in rough shape, and the people that work here can be the worst. I got loaded up in the cart, paid, and ready to go about 5 minutes prior to the tee time. I checked in with the starter and gave my receipt and he had an attitude. He calls in that I have my fiancé with me and then asked if she was playing. I told him no and said she’s just riding and he asked if she’s spectating. I told him yes and he still didn’t understand and asked if she’s riding. After telling him yes again he says I need to pay and that I have to go back and do that. At this point we just went past the tee time by one minute during this conversation and he tells me maybe I shouldn’t show up late. I told him I was on time and that we’re ready to go but he insisted on me paying for a rider even though the course had a plethora of carts and there’s hardly an hour worth of tee times after me. I went and paid for a SPECTATOR and it was $25(pre tax).. dude behind the desk gave me a ton of attitude and had the baggiest eyes. I guess that’s how it is to be at this golf course.

Moral of the story: Guy behind the desk with baggy eyes and the starter need some joy in their life or they’ll suck it out of you. Pace of play can be slow and the price isn’t worth the conditions during fall and winter seasons. Good luck!

Pretty fun to play

Easy to find carts in parking lot waiting for us. Easy check in. Ice for chests at start. Sand bottles on cart. Clean carts. Water bucket for towels. Tees good fairways good bunkers with fairly good sand. Greens pretty fast. Some very nice views waited on almost every shot but done in 3:45. Mexican place on superstition mountain drive is pretty good. Water on course for us. Price getting better

Loved the Scenery

This was a great course with green fairways and beautiful mountain views! Fun course for all levels. Everyone was super friendly and they kept the golfers on schedule by announcing who was up next. We will definitely be back!

Mtn Brook

Pace of play was not great. A couple of groups in front of us were very slow didnt see a ranger once and the round took 4hr40 min to complete
At almost 100 bucks after fees it was not what I’d call value for the money. Love this course for the views and usually the value. Fairways were not great. The greens were good though.

Good Course

This is an average to above average course in decent condition. All the staff were very friendly. It's not too challenging, but not super easy either. Worth checking out and playing. I don't understand all the 1* reviews on Google. It's maybe just a touch high price for layout and conditions, but not bad.

Picturesque

Beautiful Mountain View’s. The house was not overly challenging, but provided a good test of golf. Tees, fairways, green complexes and putting surfaces all in good condition. Only sparse areas presented themselves near the desert “rough”. First run on this track and I will be back.
