Palm Valley Golf Club - Lakes Course
Palm Valley Golf Club, located minutes from downtown Phoenix, has two 18-hole courses, the Palms Course and the Lakes Course. The Lakes Course's trademark is the extremely large greens that average 35-40 yards in depth. Several of the greens slope away from the fairways while offering multiple pin placement opportunities. The fairways have generous landing areas and they also feature numerous grass bunkers and deep sand bunkers. True to its name, the course also has water hazards that come into play. In addition to the practice facilities at the facility, the Palm Valley Golf Club also offers a golf school.

Course is in Great Condition
Pace of play was good. We played West/North course in the afternoon it was beautiful.
very poor condition
I played the course one other time and it was in good condition, so I invited a friend to play the course with me and was very surprised to find it in such bad shape from the previous time I played it a year ago. What a difference a year makes, there was very little green grass anywhere on the course including the greens. The greens that had grass it was so sparse that it made putting very bumpy and couldn't get the ball to roll true. It was a joke and I will never play there again.
Wit all that being said the Palm Valley Palms course Is in excellent condition and a pleasure to play. Don't waste your time playing the shorter crappier course, spend a little more and get significantly more for your money.
Will never return
After playing the course in this condition I should be screaming for my money back, especially when the palms course across the street was absolutely gorgeous. Very disappointing and will never return to the Lakes course ever again.
I have played the Lakes course at least twice a year for the last 10 years. Over that time frame I have never seen the course in such poor condition the Greens had no grass the fairways and rough were just as bad. I would not recommend this course to anyone. I will say the Palms course was perfect.
End of year
Very disappointed they do warn that there has been no over seeding but they shouldn't charge $29. Sand traps rock hard and so were the greens. I won't return till maybe spring and hope conditions improve. I've played here numerous times over the years and never seen conditions this bad. $29 is overcharge not worth $20. Phil should be embarrassed .
I have played this course before and it was in great condition. This day the course grass was dried up and brown...not typical for this time of the year. The bunkers were bad. I will not play this course again until I am sure the conditions have improved. The other course, the Palm Course, looked to be in great shape.
FRIENDLY LITTLE COURSE
Small little course that is great for any caliber of golfer. Good value for the price. I am a scratch golfer and this is a great little practise course. The greens were respectable for what you pay to play here.
Palm Valley Lakes
A fun course that is in very nice condition. Very good rolling greens. Will definitely play again
Great Executive Course
If you are a beginner, range limited or in need of iron practice, then this course is for you. Lakes and bunkers make it challenging enough. Course was a little dry and hard, but greens were perfect.
I just love this course and the location is great too. This course is easy to get around and has some great par 3 holes.
Course needs work.
Since they are going to redo the course soon , they are not taking care of the course . The layout and holes are well laid out and interesting but because of the the condition of the course I would not play it again until they redo it !
Course was advertised as 4 star. However there are 2 18's, 1 looks like a 4 star (very green), but the one we played, the Lakes (green/brown) was definitely more like a 3 star (not 4 star as advertised).
This was a decent place to golf due to other courses in oversee mode. The Lakes course did not overseed. The price for this course is steep for what you get. The course was busy and play can get slow. All of the long holes can be reached with two shots. The real challenge on the course are the bunkers, they are basically mud.
Years since here... will be years before next time
Understandably busy since many courses closed for overseeding but 2+30 for 9 holes on executive course is crazy. Practice facility near course itself was terrible, only a putting green that wasn't comparable to greens. Course maintenance not up to par considering they're not closing. Very disappointing.
