We only played 9 holes but the course was average and in OK shape.

It was a long ride to the north 9 but enjoyed the diversity of holes. Return to the club was done without adequate signage so it took us quite a while to get back to the club house.

Course is in good shape considering what has happened to it in the last year.

The course was in good shape and the pace of play was decent, no hold ups except at a couple of holes. My only complaint was that no one told us and there were no signs directing players to check in and pick up their carts at the San Ignacio South Course, then drive over to the San Ignacio North Course. The old Canoa Hills Pro Shop is empty and there are no signs on the doors. At the end of play I suggested to an attendent that a sign should be placed on the old Clubhouse doors to that affect.

Won't play there again until they get there act togeather!

The course is dry.. Fairway grass can't grow apparently. Greens have a lot of brown streaks and spots. Also the greens are so hard that you can't land on the green and stay on the green. The way its set up, you have to go to the main course and check in to go to the north course. #1 tee is not the most safe place to stop to tee off. Signage is very thin. Some guess work is needed to go to the next tee. All the plaques are removed from the rocks at each hole. This is because they changed the holes around but should have been replaced.
I would say to make it user friendly to the average golfer. Like myself with a 17 handicap would first take out the traps in the approach to some of the greens. Also a half dozen in the fairway. Windshield on the carts were bad enough that you could not see through them. Not only scratched up, but dirty.
A few years ago all three of these golf courses were fun to play. Canoa Ranch, Canoa Hills, and San Ignacio, but if San Ignacio North is any indication of how they are now, I guess I will stay with the Haven, and check out the others instead. .

Horrible experience

Quit after 12 holes due to extremely slow pace. Over 3 hours to play 12 holes! No Marshall. No beverage cart. Most fairways were overly dry, dead or dormant. The other four course we played during our visit were in far superior shape, and the service, pace of play, etc. were very good.

Nice course/Awkward starting hole

This is a fun course with some interesting and challenging holes. And the fairways and greens are much improved over last year. The down side is that you have to park, check in and pay at its sister course, San Ignacio South, and then drive the golf cart for about a mile down a busy road to get to the first tee! It feels very unsafe, and the rental carts are not street-legal golf carts. Also, the starting hole is a par 5, the former #7 hole. Not a good starting hole. We'll play this course once in awhile, but not at all happy about parking at the other course and driving the cart so far down a busy road.

This course needs work.

Upon arrival was informed that I could have saved $10 if I had called club before Golfnow. Disappointed that your rate is higher. Then found the course in poor shape due to lack of water.

On the mend!

This course had to be reseeded when it changed owners in the off season. The greens are generally in better shape but they are inconsistent. Some are better than I've ever seen them and others need more work. I believe that it's improved from last year and I enjoyed my experience.

We had to wait a half hour for a cart.

The course is in good shape. The greens are harder than average to read.

The only drawback was the delay in getting a cart.

course needs a lot of work to restore it.

Only played nine on the North course. Had to drive the golf cart 3/4 mile to get to the first tee from the club house. Golf cart was tired. Better than last year when the course was burned up from lack of water due to unpaid water bills. Ovewrseading was pretty thin although it seems there was some effort to get the course in playable condition from last year. Holes are interesting and the layout has potential, but I think I'll pass on a replay to next year and then see if the management has had the incentive and money to restore it. Too bad it was alowed to get in such sorry shape before an attempt was make to fix it.

work in progess

Glad to see the course(s) are back open. Hopefully they will continue to work on bringing it back to its old shape. Great lay out, great views, not really worth it at the moment unless they throw in meal with your green fee.

course in pretty bad shape. Greens were ok.

The course needs some attention. Fairways have lots of missing grass. Long card ride from the club house to the 1st tee.

This course has a wonderful scenic layout.

Although much improved under new onwership, the course still needs some attention for the prices they are charging.
The service has improved dramatically as far as cart and started management is concerned.
Downside- Traveling on a busy road for six/tenths of a mile to the first tee then back after hole 18 in a golf cart with no license plates, no lights, no brake signals is a hazard to golfers, pedestrians, and autos .

Still a work in progress

I played the course about a year ago, and there are definite signs of improvement. There is still work to do however. The greens are becoming smoother and faster, and the bunkers now have some sand in them. The tees are not in good shape with many of them domed. Fairways were mixed, some were good and some had large bare spots. Most ball washers are not working or simply missing parts.
Lots of tree trimming has taken place, but the ponds are still dry.
It is good to see progress but there is still a lot of work to be done. Overall an enjoyable layout and I look forward to seeing the continued improvements.

Absolutely beautiful scenery, enjoyed the course.

Fairways a bit narrow.
Area around greens needs improvement.
Distances did not seem well marked.
Required some course knowlede and course management.
Views were dramatic.

Good layout

Course really needs work. Skimpy grass makes for good rolls. You can definitely see where the staff is trying to make the course better. Will play it again.

Narrow fairways are challenging

Fun course to play but not on a windy day as the fairways are quite narrow on several holes and tree branches overhang fairways on others.

This course will soon be A1.

Under the new management team this course is coming along beautifully. Many holes are in top condition while a few are still being worked. The overall improvements are obvious and the course is becoming one of the premium courses in this area. It is a very challenging course for the average golfer which should be taken into consideration when booking one's rounds. All in all a great outing.

Course has improved over previous year

This is the old Canoa Hills layout in Green Valley, AZ. New ownership/management has taken a neglected course in poor condition and returned it to good to very good condition. It is obvious that much work is being done all over the course- I'm very glad to see this little gem receiving the care it needs to shine. San Ignacio North, as it is now known, is a fine test for golfers of every skill level. Its signature is that it sits in a valley of 20-30 foot high trees. Straight hitters enjoy the course more. To the east, the Santa Rita mountains rise and there are many holes which provide lovely views of the mountains. There are several elevated tees on the course- fun because my 220yd drive goes 250!
