Wigwam Resort - Red Course
About
The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots. Mature trees are also scattered throughout to add beauty and another challenging element. Winding creeks form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The Red Course is popular among locals familiar with the Wigwam Resort because it is considered to have the three best finishing holes in the area. Although walking is allowed on the other two courses, carts are required on the Red Course.

Pleasant Track
Layout is kinda messed but the atmosphere with all the palms and other greenery somewhat makes up for it. The fairways are cut super tight which, when combined the wet and muddy conditions, make for difficult ball striking. I found hitting out of the Bermuda rough much easier on the hands.
A Pleasure
Wig Wam is a pleasure to play. Always warm and welcoming.
Rec golf
If you can grab a hot deal this course is well worth it. 50 bucks.... I saw reg tee times for 110? It is pretty plain Jane there is definitely plenty of options out there.
Solid Full-service Course
You can expect the completely satisfying experience at Wigwam: from arrival to check-in, to staff efficiency and friendliness, to great golf, and post-golf amenities. If the pricing was a little more reasonable, I would pay their 3 courses every week.
Fantastic signage, excellent condition
It was nearly a perfect day of golf. Weather fantastic, random people paired with were awesome, course conditions were fantastic, the signage on the course was amazing. If you could get lost on the course you'd never be able to find the clubhouse in the first place. Seriously it was wonderful to play and never once think about where the next hole or tee box was. Now for the negatives..
The screen on the cart didn't work. The starter was beside himself that it didn't work and wanted to replace the cart. I don't use the screen so it didn't matter to me.
The staff needed a bit of training. I was told I would be helped into a cart after paying. When I went outside people were standing around but not helping. I ended up just taking a cart and driving off.
The Marshall asked us to pick up the pace when we were standing on the tee box waiting to hit. When we pointed this out he asked us to hit when we could, well yeah that's what we always planned on doing.
Lastly when returning the cart there wasn't a defined drop off location. No one spoke to me but they did jump into the cart and drive off right when I parked it.
These are all tiny nit picks and this would be high on my list to play again.
Would come back
Played a round 1 PM tee time on the Red Course as a preview of an AGA Tournament Round this Sunday. First time ever at the course. Greens in Excellent shape, most everything else Very Good conditions. Would have been better if the groups ahead of us were playing ready golf - slowed things down on almost every hole. I would come back again and play one of the other two courses here, and am looking forward to playing there this Sunday.,
Red Course in Good Condition
New grass abounds, as does CPO (not much of a problem for me, as I walk, but for the delay created for those traversing the fairways from the cart path). Some tee boxes were still filling-in; fairways lush, though needing to be cut; rough was tall (making it hard to find your ball), also needing a cut; greens were firm and at a good pace; white sand traps did need some additional sand. Pace of play was 4 hours (with our foursome keeping pace with the twosome in front of us. A Hot Deal price made it very affordable. Weather was outstanding, with just a minor breeze at times. Will definitely venture again the 1-hour commute to Wigwam in the near future, now that the Scottsdale courses have returned to their extreme rates for the fall/winter/spring seasons.
No Marshal and pricey
We were sent out following a men's foursome that played so slow that there were 2 holes open in front of them before we got to 5. Just disappointed that Marshall did not get them to either pick up pace or let people play through. Group of ladies behind us were asking why course was playing so slowly and they were walking the course. A little pricey for a course that had just had overfeeding. I love this course just had a bad experience today.
Good facility
Good golf course....played the red course and it was carts on path because of overseeding, minor inconvenience. Staff was great, friendly and efficient.
