Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.

Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.

After a round at Las Sendas Golf Club, head to Las Sendas Grille, for the full bar, including wines from California, Australia and Europe, as well as four tap beers and domestic and imported bottles.

Las Sendad

Sand in traps is very poor, basically tiny rocks that end up all over greens with green side bunkers. Greens are small and do not hold.which make some approach shots a matter of luck.

Perfect year-end golf splurge

Normally play in leagues around the area. Decided to have a nice round out of my usual set of tracks. Las Sendas was nice. It was in perfect condition and we played in a little over four hours--two of the foursome had never played there before, so that was pretty fast.

Beautiful Course that brings a good challenge

Really enjoyed the experience. Friendly staff, beautiful and challenging course just make the whole day a joy. One comment for you is that on the 16th hole the gentleman cutting the grass did not yield to us at the tee and we ended up having to wait 7-10 minutes to tee off. We finally just hit and he never stopped mowing.

Very Pleased

This was my first time playing Las Sendas and I was very impressed with the conditions. The staff was friendly and helpful. The all grass range was adequate with balls included in the greens fee. Off the tee the fairways are generous with some interesting risk reward shots to be had. The greens were well bunkered and rolled well. The course is lined with houses but it didn’t take away from the beauty of the place. Fairway and rough were lush which is different from a lot of other courses I’ve played here. Only issue our group had was with the grounds crew mowing and working around a number of greens. Other than that small gripe I will definitely come back to play again.

Great challenge

A challenging course with a variety of hole layouts. Lots of elevated greens that require precise approach shots.
Was lucky to play with a very friendly member. He was invaluable with his directions in pointing out shot lines, hazards and green breaks. If you don't know, the desert can be a nasty mistress!
Great conditions and beautiful views of the valley.
