Great track as always and now that Troon runs it even better.. Play it everytime in AZ . Planes go right over you head low but besides that, awesome course and great greens , fairways and boxes
An interesting and enjoyable challenge
We had an enjoyable day. With multiple sets of tees, The course provides an interesting challenge for a wide range of players. The pace of play was very good-much better than my previous rounds here. (This was in part due to chilly weather and a few groups not showing up for their tee time). Course conditioning was pretty good, with the bunkers being the main exception (not enough sand, too hard to hit a proper bunker shot).
This was the first time I played the course in more than a year, since Troon took over the course management. They have not yet adopted the nice touches which I have come to expect normally at Troon courses (such as free range balls with your greens fee, towels in carts, divot tools and ball markers, and GPS in carts).
A little cold and windy, but us Canuckleheads don’t mind that. Course is in great shape. Staff were friendly and helpful. My only disappointment was there were no warbirds flying today.
Pretty nice course but surprised that for the high price of green fees you had to pay for range balls
Longbow Golf experience!
Great track....greens were perfect. 4 of us went out about 2PM on Friday afternoon and finished before dark.
Great playable layout and conditions. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Clubhouse set up is first rate as well. Will definitely be in our regular rotation of courses.
Love the fact no houses on the course yet great access to freeways from anywhere in the valley.
Keep up the great work Longbow!
Will Be Back Soon!
First time I have played the course in about three years. We started at 1:40 and were able to get all 18 in before dark at 5:40. Pace of play was right at 4 hours. Overall the course was in great shape. Greens were nearly perfect, rolling smooth and about a 10. Will be back soon!
Good layout rough is not dormant
Although there was a frost delay we got out prior to our tee time and partnered up with a local which helped . On hole 4 don’t go left there’s water in play you can’t see , which he told me after I hit funny guy .The course is in great shape . ( it’s the first course that had green rough since we arrived 12/16) Greens were hard and fast . The course is now a Troon course so add it too your list if you have a Troon card and like most Troon courses there usually ahead of the curve is all aspects . We had no issue with pace but they were monitoring the pace all day . Play here
This course is challenging
Great golf experience, well maintained and in great condition. Greens are fast and sand traps needed more sand.
Will play here again.
Frost in Arizona
Frost delay at 40 degrees? Staff was not friendly, I assume that they were not happy because it was cold. Good old boys club in Pro shop. Driving range and putting green were closed due to frost. Small club house. Had to stand around until they let us onto the course. Greens were covered with ball marks. Golf cart ran out of juice on 12th hole, had to be replaced. Pace of play was slow, because of the other two some we were grouped with. They were regulars at the course. They were on power skate boards. Constantly driving in front of us looking for their balls in the desert. No marshal. Not fun.
Very fair test of golf, fairly wide fairways. Lots of bunkers required good course management. Quiet day so pace of play was very fast - 3 1/2 hours Exceptional practice facilities.
Course in excellent condition. Lots of traps guard many greens and greens are challenging to read and pace correctly. One gripe is closely mown grass and hard traps near the water on the front nine can lead to “wet” balls that initially look ok.
Great value and great course
Course was in excellent condition and played very fair. Rate was good via GolfNow and staff were friendly and welcoming. Will play again for sure.
Longbow best round ever
Wow!, I had an eagle and birdie for a guy who normally shots in Thebes mid 90’s. Today 84. A great course to finish my golf vacation on and head bad to Illinois.
Enjoyed playing this course. Well maintained and beautiful desert landscape, with mountains in the background. It took a little while to get used to all the small planes flying over - it was like playing by a highway. It was really busy and we waited a bit. But the round was just 4 hours 20 minutes so not bad.
Love the layout
The course was in great shape as usual. Greens were a little slow but good condition. I play this course everytime I am in Mesa. No houses on the course so if you are a little rusty you can let it fly and the worst that happens is you loose a ball.
