Painted Mountain Golf Club
The Painted Mountain Golf Club is a challenging desert-style course with a variety of different tees to accommodate every age group and skill level. The course offers a lengthier challenge from the first hole, a par-5 dogleg right, to the last, which requires an approach shot over water in order to reach the green. The Painted Mountain Golf Club, in addition to the course, is also home to the John Jacob's Golf School.

Course very dry and in rough shape
Had played the course a week earlier and it was in much better shape
fairways and greens were very dry
fairways being aerated while we played - dust everywhere
Very Nice Course
The first few holes made me think this wouldn't be a very entertaining round. But as the round unfolded, the course became more enjoyable. A fair test of golf.
good for price
Not a hard course but it was great for working on shots. Was not rushed
Really nice greens
Was able to get in an early morning round-finished in 2 hours. Greens are in really good shape and fairways are very playable. Friendly staff, good value. Carts are in rough shape but it beats walking.
Same course that you need to play
After reading the reviews, I still came here. This course has been an east valley staple for years. Expect fun, quick, summer golf from this course and you will not be disappointed. Fairways are greens with a few dried areas. Greens are green but slower than what the pros play on. This course is for all levels of golfers with its wide open fairways and large soft greens. Pace today was nice until the back 9 when a single actually brought the few groups on the course to a complete halt, lol. Please ignore the poor reviews from people expecting private course conditions on this public player friendly course. Play it now before the winter visitors return and the enjoyment goes away.
Great course for all level of players!
It was a very enjoyable course to play. The pace was great. The layout was very good, numerous bunkers and water hazards. It is a course for single, couples and all ages.
Very Poorly Kept Course
Greens were the only thing half decent on this course. Tees were all uneven, fairways were meh, rough and cart paths were deplorable. Even my string of 6 pars on the back 9 is not enough for me to want to revisit this course. So many better kept options for less or the same $$$.
Overall, course is in excellent condition and very green. According,, the greens are in fabulous shape, though a bit slow. Pace of play was great (almost no one on the course). Painted Mountain GC is presently an exceptional value for the money.
Average suburban course
You get what you pay for. Average course in a suburban subdivision. Weaving in and out of the neighbourhood with some tight fairways that had houses on both sides which didn’t provide much room for error.
Some greens and fairways looked pretty worn down. Didn’t see any marshalls or a cart girl. Only had a restroom at the turn.
The course was pretty much straight throughout. Nothing challenging or fancy. I didn’t “recommend it” because it’s a bad course. I chose to not “recommend it” because it’s not memorable or anything to write home about. Too average for visitors like us who only get to play a few courses in Arizona every 2-3 years. Not worth the visit.
Pace of play was great though. Our twosome finished in a little over 3 hrs (playing whites) with a twosome just ahead of us and a threesome chasing us.
I’ve played here before and I remember it being better than this. Today it was pretty bad. The fairways are long with lots of high growing grass spots all over the place. The greens were pretty slow, but that’s just how it is. The blue tee boxes were about as level as a basketball. When we called days before to ask the pro shop the condition and they say “oh it’s beautiful”, clearly we need to come check before we book another time because we can’t take their word for it.
Good course and good price
Play Painted Mountain a lot during the summer. Good summer rates and good availability. Staff are great.
Some Greens in terrible shape
Starter was not very helpful, and a bit short , I was early for my tee time and he made a big deal about it!!
Raman in the pro shop was friendly and took care of me in a very nice manner... the course was not even busy so he said no problem joining a group and starting early.
